• Interview with 2002 King of the Ring Brock Lesnar
  COLUMBUS, Ohio – June 23, 2002 – Get ready for Brock Lesnar’s “First Big Main Event.” Lesnar joined an exclusive club whose members include legends like Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H by winning the King of the Ring crown today. And, for the first time, the King of the Ring winner has been guaranteed a shot at the WWE Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam. It’s the first time since Kurt Angle’s rookie campaign that a superstar has had a legitimate shot at that title this early in his career. All of these thoughts were still sinking in for Lesnar, no doubt, when he agreed to this interview with WWE.com just moments after winning the KOTR crown.

Every few moments he touched the big shiny plate in the middle – the one that read “WWE Cruiserweight Champion.” He closed his eyes every so often and then slowly re-opened them, just to see if this was real.
