Tiffinny Sciliano sent in the following:

Co-owner of the NWA TNA,Jeff Jarrett, and the voice of the NWA TNA,Mike
Tenay, were guests this week on Chairshots radio show. The show is available
24/7 at http://www.chairshots.com and the host is Rod Siciliano. Here are a
few highlights from the Jarrett interview:

-On whether Jerry Jarrett will be an on air character: "Absolutely not.
He's never been...once he's stepped out of the ring he's never been an on
air character in any of his promotions so I don't forsee him doing that.
He's 59 years old, so he's not going to be involved in storylines. Nor
    should he.

-On Rick Steiner and Buff Bagwell being a part of the NWA TNA: "Number one
is that both those guys feel like they have something to prove. Both of
them still want to be involved with the business here in the states. Rick
is going over to Japan for a New Japan Pro Wrestling coming up in the month
of July. Buff, I think he's realizied he`s taken his lumps and bruises and
not always made the right business decisions. He's got something to prove.
I think NWA TNA is going to give them the opportunity to step up to the
plate and see what they can do and if they can't deliver then I'm sure that
we are going to have to part ways. But they do bring name value. So love
them or hate them, everybody knows who Rick Steiner is as well as Buff
Bagwell. So, let's see how they perform. I'm eager to see where their
head's at on a performance level. We did get some negative critisism but I
expected that. All of us here at Total Nonstop Action expected some
critisism, but we're willing to give those guys a chance and I for one am
eager to see if those guys can deliver."

-On whether there were any hard feelings leaving the WWF: "Not on my behalf
and not on Vince McMahons behalf. Alot of people tried to read more into
that story than was there but the fact remains this; It's been publisized
there is no hiding the fact that my contract expired on a Saturday night.
Everybody in Titan Sports knew when that contract expired. It's not like I
had the Intercontinental belt tucked away in my bedroom at home. I wore it
at every show. So it was no secret that I was the champion. It wasn't my
fault that they let my contract expire and didn't negotiate with me. Jim
Ross treated me...I could go into detail after detail about how he went
about the negotiations. I can assure you that if I was in that position, if
you got a guy that is the champion you just don't negotiate with guys like
that. So, for anybody to say that I held up the WWF, how can any wrestler
hold up the WWF when they are not under contract. They didn't have to pay
me a penny to show up at the PPV and I didn't have to show up at the PPV. I
showed up becuase I wanted to and because I thought it was the right thing
to do. And, I got my money for showing up. He
(Vince McMahon) didn't have to pay me a penny. He didn't have to have me
    there."

-On whether there was any truth to the story that Stone Cold Steve Austin
didn`t want to work a program with him when he was in the WWF: "Now that it
is year 2002, boy hasn't that list of guys grown quite a bit? Absolutely.
For some reason, Steve`s got his reasons. If it's a personal decision that
he made and he didn't want to work with me and he let it effect business,
that's where as a company you have to draw the line. The business is a
business, that's just what it is. So if he made a personal decision and he
let it effect business then I really don't respect him for that. And I know
there are a lot of people who don't respect a decision made out of personal
feelings. He let some personal feelings get in the way and I wasn't the
first guy and I certainaly wasn't the last guy.

-On what role the women will play in the NWA TNA: "That's the topic of
discussion. And one thing goes without question, is women in wrestling can
work to a huge degree. In the late 80's probably the best storyline the WWF
had was Hulk Hogan against Macho Man Randy Savage with Elizabeth in the
middle. They had a love triangle. Was she going to go with Macho Man, her
husband or was she going to go with say your prayers and take your vitamins,
Hulk Hogan? In the late 90's, Sable was a big part of the Attitude era. So
women in wrestling work when they are put in the right storyline and the
right situation. To put girls out there wrestling each other, that has
never worked. In my opinion, I don't think it will ever work. In the fact
that, it's just like the WNBA, no matter how good Chamique Holdsclaw is,
she's never going to do a breakaway slam like Kobe Bryant. They just don't
have the ability to wrestle like the guys do. But what they do have the
advantage of, is they can look how they look. They can be involved in
storylines, they can create that sex appeal. They can create very dramatic
situations, whether it be a love triangle, whether it be this guy screwing
around with this guy`s girlfriend. And you can get a very personal issue
with it. Women in wrestling, some times there's magic that can never be
achieved unless the woman was involved".

Interesting truff from Jarrett. His comments about Austin are very
timely. It`s certainly an interview to check out to get the scoop on the NWA
    TNA.
