I was at the Smackdown tapings in Calgary last night
    and here are some notes:

    - 4 Sections in the upper deck of the Saddledome were
tarped off, we asked an usher what was up and he said
it was done for lighting reasons (?) other than that
the Saddledome was completely sold out

    - The were 3 Velocity matches taped they were:

    Mark Henry defeating The Godfather

Reverend Dvon defeated The Big Valbowski

    Albert defeated Hugh Morrus

    - Before Smackdown they showed 2 Desire videos on the
titantrons and the crowd popped huge when pictures of
Bret Hart, Owen Hart, and The British Bulldog were
    shown

    - Stu Hart was then wheeled out in his wheelchair to a
    huge pop

    - A video tribute to Davey Boy Smith was shown and
then the bell was tolled 10 times in his memory.

Then Smackdown started, it was very clear that
everybody was there to see Hogan as there were lots of
Hogan chants all night and everytime Hogan appeared on
the titantrons and when Hogan came out at the end the
    crowd went nuts.

    - Big pops for Jericho and Edge (Canadians) and a
surprizing loud pop for The Undertaker who then
praised Calgary which the fans loved.

    - Vince and Angle got the most heel heat as well as
Billy and Chuck with lots of "Homo" and "Faget"
    chants.

    - Lots of "Go Leafs Go" chants too

All in all a great show, I would say better than Raw
last year and hopefully the WWE comes back to Calgary
more than once a year cause it is a great wrestling
city that always sells out for WWE.

    Biggest Pops:
    Hogan (by far)
    HHH
    Undertaker
    Edge
    Jericho

    Most Heat
    Vince
    Angle
    Test
Lance Storm (for ripping on Canada)
When they announced that there was no Stacy

I attended the Smackdown tapings last night, and WHAT A SHOW! I have been to a WCW event (Nitro, Kelowna, BC.), PPV's (IYH: Canadian Stampede) and the last 5 (at least) WWF/WWE events in Calgary. Hell, I even road tripped to Edmonton for last years Smackdown. I can honostly say, this was the best show WWE has ever produced that I have seen live.

The crowd was even into the whole night including the Velocity tapings.

    The Velocity tapings included:

Mark Henry vs. Godfather, Henry winning with a Bear Hug.
Albert vs. Hugh Morris, Albert winning with the Baldo Bomb.
Rev. D-von vs. Val Venis, D-von winning after interfearance with Batista

Before the Smackdown tapings started, they had a tribute to Davey Boy Smith, voiced over by Vince McMahon. One of the loudest respect pops I have ever heard. I believe my "All Bulldogs Go To Heaven" sign got onto TV while they rang the 10 bells. Very classy move by the WWE.

The crowd was hot all night, except for the lightweight tag match. For the most part, everyone was there to see Hogan, including me. When the Hulkster was shown on the Tron, the place went crazy. The only time it was louder was when Hogan ran out durring the cage match. His interview was delayed with Hogan on the screen due to a standing ovation or atleast 5 minutes.

Surprising to hear the Undertaker cut a promo on Calgary, saying that he gave Orton the shot in the "Championship city of the world". In their match, Orton messed up on an interesting move invloving he leg on the back side of Taker head. They went back and re-did the move correctly.

Take it from me, Dawn Marie is looking better than ever, but a tad unbeleavable as a lawyer.

After the cage match, they raised the cage and Edge and Hogan played to the crowd. Hogan did his traditional pose-downs, and got Edge to do them aswell. Crowd ate it up.

    Biggest Pops:
    1. Hogan, anything to do with Hogan.
    2. Bret Hart shown on the Tron durring the "Desire" video's
    3. Undertaker's Promo
    4. Triple H
    5. Edge/Christian/Jericho, good canadian kids.

    Biggest Heat
    1. McMahon, the city still can't forgive him for Montreal.
    2. Kurt Angle
    3. Orton's mess up
    4. Tajiri (Yet the backstage promo with the Maven/Tori kiss was damn funny)
    5. Taker interfearing in the Triple H match.

I don't think I would pay $80+ for a WWE ticket again, but if it could be guarenteed that it would be half the show this was, I would consider it.
