Alex Rizzo or Big Dick Dudley was announced to have died from kidney failure of some kind 2 weeks ago. While with his wife at home, Rizzo complained of being light headed and had problems urinating for several days. (Meltzer, 2002)
Buff Bagwell was said to be a total mess a Kearney, NE independent show on May 18th. Before his match with Disco Inferno, Buff was asleep backstage. It was said that Disco had to carry him, big time, through the match. (Meltzer, 2002)
Although he's not an official employee of NWA - TNA, it's said that Vince Russo is offering ideas to the company, probably through real life friend, Jeff Jarrett. (Meltzer, 2002)
Tickets for the debut NWA-TNA show in Huntsville, Alabama have been very slow in advance. Roughly less than 300 tickets have been sold, thus far. The show will be on June 19th. (Meltzer, 2002)
Dan West, on of the announcers signed by NWA-TNA, was actually wanted by Eric Bischoff, if WCW was to be purchased through Bischoff's lead in Fusient. However, the deal fell through, WCW was sold to the WWF at a discount price, and Dan West was left without a wrestling company to announce for. West was successful on the Home Shopping Network as a hard-sell guy, which is what Bischoff was after, and the same is probably said about the Jarretts. (Meltzer, 2002)
There are hints about some old school vs. new school feuds being done in NWA-TNA, given the fact that many veterans and younger wrestlers have been signed to the promotion. (Meltzer, 2002)
NWA-TNA has talked with Scott Hall recently, to whatever effect that may be. (Meltzer, 2002)
