NWA-TNA signs Mike Tenay, Wrestler on soap opera, more

- Evan Karagias, former WCW Cruiserweight champion and WWE developmental wrestler, will be filming an appearance on the soap opera "Passions" this week. Karagias will play the role of a professional wrestler. An air date for the appearance has yet to be released.

J SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT SIGNS MIKE TENAY TO ANNOUNCE TEAM
J Sports & Entertainment is happy to announce the addition of Mike Tenay as analyst for NWA-TNA: Total Nonstop Action.
Tenay is a long time fan of professional wrestling and was host of the immensely popular radio program "Wrestling Insiders" that aired nationally on 450 stations from 1991 to 1995. Tenay also published one of the very first wrestling newsletters. Tenay's "Mat News" was published from 1966 to 1972 and included inside information obtained from correspondents around the world. Fans will also remember Tenay as host of a popular hotline segment for WCW and as one of the lead announcers on WCW programming.
"Mike Tenay is a virtual encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge," said J Sports CEO Jerry Jarrett. "Mike will bring his understanding of the heritage and tradition of the NWA to the broadcast and we are thrilled to have someone with his background on our announce team."
Tenay joins previously announced commentators Ed Ferrara and Don West to complete a three man announce team for NWA-TNA: Total Nonstop Action.
NWA-TNA: Total Nonstop Action will premiere at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL on June 19, 2002. The first ever PPV broadcast from Huntsville will air live nationwide on cable and satellite providers at 8pm EST/7pm CST.
Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations and at the Von Braun Center Box Office. Tickets are available for $35, $25 and $18.
NWA-TNA: Total Nonstop Action will broadcast every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on national cable and satellite providers with an encore presentation scheduled for the following Sunday at Noon ET (time approximate). The suggested pay-per-view retail price for each event is just $9.95.
