Despite what has been reported elsewhere, the official word on the Franchise, Shane Douglas is that he has NO interest in joining the NWA - Total Nonstop Action (TNA) promotion run by the Jarretts. The following news and notes comes from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which you can obtain information on by Clicking Here. The WWA is citing that they'll tour the intended England cities of May in December now. The May British tour was cancelled due to low ticket sales after the WWF just toured there. (Meltzer, 2002) There was actually an article in a Manchester newspaper, citing the the WWA England tour was cancelled due to injuries, namely Sid Vicious. Of course, we know the real reasons, and with Sid, he recently had a falling out with head promoter, Andrew McManus. (Meltzer, 2002) The WWA recently talked with Joanie Laurer (or Chyna from the WWF) about coming in for a show, but talks ended when Laurer insisted on not wrestling a match on the show.
