Information on the new program lineup can be found here - http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2002/articles/1020878987.php

Hulk Hogan comes to the ring. Before Hogan can get on the mic the fans start chanting Hogan. Nothing close to the Montreal pop but good for the US. Hogan talks. I was born Terry Bollea on August 1953. I was raised in Tampa, Florida. My parents were working class people who worked all their lives to support our family. One day about 20 years ago I had the opportunity to get in this business. I had the honor to perform all around the world. The last 20 years I have had a blast. There is only one thing I regret - my father past away at Christmas time and he's not alive to see me right now with all my Hulkamaniacs. As he was lying in the hospital he didn't show any emotion in his face. One day he got tired of looking at me and he tore that trachea tube out of his throat and said two things to me - Go back to wrestling and straighten out your career, and Go back home and go back to the WWF. Well here I am guys. I couldn't have done it without all you guys out here, so thank you. Thank you for believing in me. If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't be who I am today. I have to thank you right now for taking the biggest step in my professional career. There comes a time in every man's life where you just have to step down. Most of all I want to thank you for all of the memories. before I leave this ring tonight for the very last time, I have one hope and one dream, and that I hope Hulkamania lives forever. From my heart Hulkamaniacs, thank you.

Vince McMahon walks to the ring and gets on the mic. Say it ain't so. My god the sky is falling down. The world is coming to an end because Hogan is announcing his retirement. Just where is Hogan making the most important announcement in his career? Right here in the very rectum of Tupelo, Mississippi. Hogan, read my lips. There is no chance in hell of you retiring. Your not gonna retire tonight or any night. I'll tell you why. Ten years ago you walked out on me. Not this time. This time I have a signed contract and if you walk out on me I will sue you and your family for everything you got. The only way you will ever leave my company is when your body is decomposing in a pine box. I created Hulk Hogan. I own Hulkamania. I intend to milk Hulkamania for every cent I can until the day you die.

Vince, I was counting on you to come out here and ruin this. I was planning it. One day I may retire but it won't be till I kick you ass.

Hogan punches Vince and whips him with the weightlifting belt. Undertaker hits the ring and attacks Hogan in the corner. Hogan regains momentum and clotheslines Undertaker out of the ring. Undertaker and Vince walk up the ramp staring at Hogan. Vince yells out that Hulkamania will die on his terms. Hogan flexes for the crowd and walks to the back.

    Chimmel thanks everyone for coming.

    Thats it...

    Notes from Tupelo Smackdown taping
Report by "Hollywood Helsmley" from the LOP message boards

Last night at the Smackdown tapings, the WWE desire video was shown. Triple H, Stone Cold, and The Rock got big pops for their scenes and whenever their pictures were up on the titan tron. Hogan got very little reaction. Many people in the crowd were Rock fans, so I guess they were disappointed.

The Bancorp SouthCenter seats 10,000, and except for a section of about 20 seats in the top corner of the arena, the place was a sell-out. Unlike all the TV shows I've seen, the crowd had very few signs. Surprisingly, I didn't see any anti-Hogan signs, but there weren't as many signs as the TV will give you the impression of. The crowd was really-good natured, b/c this was the first time the WWE has come for a TV show there.

I drove 6 hours to north MS to watch the show, b/c I wanted to see Hogan live one last time in my life. I made a sign "I drove 6 F'N hours to see Hogan!," and everyone was asking where I drove from. I got trouble from only one guy over it who was a Benoit fan. Couldn't argue there. However, the event staff WERE taking signs away from us who were seated on the camera side of the ramp, including my Hogan sign and LordsofPain.net sign, so they wouldn't obstruct the view. Lots of good Hogan, HHH, and Rock signs were taken up, even though they weren't negative.

After the hot Triple H-Lance Storm match, the crowd was dead till the Angle/Christian and Edge/Maven match. Jericho and Henry were greated luke warmly. Nothing for the cruiserweight match. I thought the Chavo segment was only going to be aired to the arena and not the TV crowd. During the Rikishi and D'Von match, a small "Faggot" chant broke out when Billy and Chuck were standing on the ramp. When Hogan came out, the place exploded. I thought he wasn't going to get such a big pop based on the earlier segments with him that were seen, but that wasn't the case. He could have milked the chants longer, but he kept cutting everyone off. I guess they were in need of rapping up the show?

After the show, the Triple H "Screw the Rules" shirts sold out. It was hard to judge who sold more shirts (Hogan or HHH) before the show, but Hogan shirts were going hand-over-fist afterwards. They had a few boxes of those, but my girlfriend was disappointed she didn't get one of those HHH shirts. On TV, you'll see me: I'm the crazy guy dressed up like Hogan by the TV side of the entrance ramp.

    Biggest Pops:
    1. Hogan
    2. Triple H(they were about the same, but Hogan's were a lot longer, so I give him number one spot.)
    3. Edge
    4. The King (1st match, but I guess you have to count it)

    Biggest Heat
    1. Angle (Everyone wanted to see his bald head, but you noticed they were chanting the "You Suck" and not the "You're Bald" the WWE was trying to start.)
    2. Vince McMahon( Angle had the crowd organize a lot of chants against him, everyone was chanting "you suck" or "asshole" or just booing Vince, so it really wasn't organized.
    3. Undertaker
    4. Lance Storm

Again, catch me as "Hollywood Helmsley" on the LOP boards!
