Adam Pilkinton sent in the following:

I just got back from the Birmingham Jefferson Civic
Center for the WWE Smackdown House show in Birmingham.
Great show with lots of crowd reaction in most parts.
Attendance was really down, and the arena only looked
about 1/4 full. The arena floor was packed, and the
first level of seats was also, but the middle section
was extremely sparse and the upper deck was completely
empty. The crowd only seemed to pop for either
wrestlers they know, or any kind of highspot or
    anything involving the top rope.
Here's a rundown of the matches:

    Match #1:

Lance Storm and Hardcore Holly vs. Randy Orton and Val
    Venis

Holly came out to a mixed reaction, being from Alabama
and all. Great match put on by these guys, and the
crowd was into it for almost every move.
One funny thing that happened, was Storm was working
over Val Venis, and hit a beautiful dropkick and
tagged in Holly. Holly hit an even more beautiful
dropkick and a stalling suplex and looked at Storm.
He tagged in Storm and he gave a stalling suplex in
return and hit another dropkick that was higher than
Holly's. They had a little competition going on.
Eventually Holly tagged back in and hit one more
dropkick and punched Storm when he was on the apron.
Hot tag to Randy Orton and he hit a High Cross Body
onto Storm, who reversed it into a pin and held his
    tights.

Winners: Lance Storm and Bob Holly

    Match #2:

    Jamie Knoble vs. Shannon Moore

Decent match between these two. Saw alot of hold
reversals and rest holds, with a few highspots in the
match. Crowd was dead throughout most of the match,
    except for the highspots.
The finish was a victory roll from Shannon Moore that
was reversed by Knoble and Knoble held onto the ropes.
Knoble looks like a young Chris Benoit, and even
    wrestles like him.

    Winner: Jamie Knoble

    Match #3:

Christian and Albert vs. Maven and Mark Henry

Christian had incredible amounts of heat when he got
on the mic. Usual comments by Christian about dumb
rednecks and so forth. VERY loud "YOU SUCK" chants
for Christian. He started saying that there were 53
reasons why Christian doesn't suck, and when he got to
#3, Henry's music hit. Good match, with alot of
strength spots from Henry. Christian made the match,
though, by doing things like going for a test of
strength on Henry and posing on the middle ropes on
the outside behind Henry's back, and when Henry turned
around he made a face at him, and he fell down into
the ring with fear! Great stuff. Also, at one point,
Christian told the Ref that Mark Henry was pulling
Albert's back hair. Really funny stuff. Mark Henry
won the match with a running powerslam on Christian.

    Winners: Maven and Mark Henry

    Match #4

4-way Cruiserweight Title match - Tajiri vs. Chavo vs.
    Kidman vs. Hurricaine Helms

Good cruiser match with alot of highspots hit, and a
few Tajiri kicks to get the crowd into it. The finish
was the super chokeslam from Hurricaine to Chavo for
the pin. I guess that's his finishing move now.

Winner: Hurricaine retains the Cruiserweight Title

    Match #5

D'von and Deacon Batista vs. Farooq and Hugh Morrus

D'von got on the mic and made a few Bible Belt
comments and told us that we're all going to bust Hell
wide open if we don't change our ways. Farooq went to
use the mic after D'von was done, and the mic wouldn't
work for a minute, but when it did, he said that
everyone there would love to see him bust him wide
open. Decent match with these guys. Deacon looks
impressive, and is bigger than he looks on camera.
The finish was Deacon hit a version of the Franchiser
    (front chinbreaker) for the pin.

    Winners: D'von and Deacon Batista

    Match #6

    Y2J vs. Hulk Hogan

Amazing heat for Jericho's entrance. Plenty of
Asshole/You Suck chants from the crowd. Hogan got
great pops when he walked out. Typical Hogan match,
with all the usual spots hit. Jericho pulled off one
of the turnbuckles, and when the ref was trying to put
it back together, Jericho choked Hogan for a good
while with some kind of material. Ref bump pretty far
into the match, and Jericho hit Hogan with a chair
(Hogan pussed out on the chairshot, and made it look
bad). Another ref came out to make the count for
Jericho, and when Hogan kicked out, he knocked out the
other ref. Hogan "Hulked Up", and hit the Big Boot
and Atomic Leg Drop of Doom for the pin. Hogan stayed
on in the ring to pose and get huge pops from all
    sides of the crowd.

    Winner: Hollywood Hulk Hogan

After this, they had an Arm Wrestling Challenge
between two local radio station personalities. Noone
    really cared.

    Match #7

Chuck and Billy vs. Rikishi and Rico
Decent match everyone hit their usual spots. Rico
tried to help the guys out and beat up on Rikishi, and
wound up hitting Chuck by accident. Rikishi
sidekicked Rico, who then landed on Chuck for the pin.
After the match, Billy Gunn got a Stinkface for his
troubles. Rikishi started to leave the ring, but was
cheered on by the fans to dance. He milked it for a
minute or two, acting like he was going to leave, then
eventually got in the ring and did his thing. Huge
pops for him dancing, especially when he was grinding
his hips to the girls in the front.

Winners: Rikishi and Rico retain the Tag Team
    Championships

    Match #8

    Test vs. Edge

Test walked out to a mixed reaction, but wound up
getting heel heat. Edge got a great pop walking out.
You suck chants for Test, and Edge got in the mic and
said, "I don't know if you can tell, but these people
are saying you suck!" which got a great pop and even
more You Suck chants. Edge won the match with the
    Edge-A-Cution.

    Winner: Edge

    Swimsuit Challenge

Torie vs. Stacey vs. Victoria vs. Ivory and
    commentated by Tazz

Tazz pinched Ivory on the ass as she was getting in to
the ring. Ivory called us all perverts for wanting to
see her and these girls naked. Plenty of heel heat
for her. Eventually, Stacey said that since she was
Vince's assistant, she's sure that Vince would want
the fans to see them half naked so her and Victoria
ripped Ivory's Tough Enough 2 robe to reveal a Yellow
bikini, much to our delight. Then Victoria took off
her robe and she had on a teal bikini. After that,
Stacey pulled hers off, and she was wearing a black
one. Finally, Torie took off her robe to show she was
wearing a white (may have been pink, but I was too
distracted by Stacey) bikini. Torie got the loudest
pops, thus winning the contest, and Victoria and
Stacey got jealous. They beat up on Torie, and Torie
gives them a double clothesline for doing so. Great
    pops.

    Winner: Every male in attendance

    Match #9 Main Event

    Kurt Angle vs. HHH

Angle walked out with a towel on his head, hiding his
freshly shaven head. The "You Suck" chants during his
music almost covered up the music itself. HHH came
out to the biggest pops of the night. Angle got on
the mic, and said that he's an Olympic Hero and that
he doesn't suck. HHH got on it and said that it's
true, Angle doesn't suck. He's bald, but he doesn't
    suck.
Great match between these two. Funny spot happened
when Angle was sitting down after a move, and HHH came
up behind him and used his towel to shine Angle's
head. Pedigree by HHH for the pin. After the match,
HHH posed for a while for the fans.

    Winner: HHH

Great show put on by the WWE. I was dissapointed in
the attendance, but it was a house show, and not a TV
taping, so I guess that had something to do with it.

    Biggest pops:

    1. HHH
    2. Hogan
    3. Edge
    4. Rikishi Dancing
    5. Anything Mark Henry did to Christian

    Biggest Heat:

    1. Jericho
    2. Christian's Alabama Comments
    3. Christian/Albert walkout
    4. Angle "You Suck" chants
    5. Holly/Storm

I got to meet quite a few of the wrestlers afterwads
in the hotel resteraunt where they were staying. I
met D'von, Deacon Batista, Maven, Randy Orton, Edge,
and Jericho. I bought D'von a beer, and they all gave
Orton a hard time about his autograph he gave me. Out
of all of them, Orton and Maven were the nicest.
Really humble, and down to earth guys.
