  • The Scorpion King finished its opening weekend with a box office gross of $36.2 million, which makes it the biggest opening weekend ever for a movie in the month of April, beating the $27.7 million mark set by The Matrix in 1999. Even more impressive is the fact that The Scorpion King accounted for 40% of the box office gross for the weekend's top 12 films. Changing Lanes came in second for the weekend with $11.1 million.
