Happy birthday James! DVD Review The Insider's History of WrestleMania Date: 3/28/02 Reporting by: HCK James Janovsky Ok, I am reviewing the FREE DVD that was included with my WWF Forceable Entry CD I bought at Best Buy. It's an exclusive only at Best buy. I believe it came in the WrestleMania 2000 dvd but I am not too sure about that. Here we go. Enjoy. The menu is like the cover of WrestleMania the book. On the rightside is the chapter selections and there are no Play all option or Hidden stuff (easter eggs). But what can I say it's free. On the rightside you can choose from 1985 through 2000 (WrestleMania 1 to WrestleMania 16 or 2000) WrestleMania (1985) - This chapter we begin with Howard Finkle talking about Vince having a meeting in 1984 and talking about this idea for a huge event and what not. Howard said everyone thought he was crazy but once Vince gets himself started he succeeds. Then we cut to highlites of Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff being interviewed then Hulk Hogan and Mr. T training. Then we go to the main event of the first ever WrestleMania and it's a tag match between Hulk Hogan & Mr. T taking on Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff. WrestleMania 2 (1986) - This chapter we begin with Gerald Brisco talking about how this event was broadcasted from 3 different cities and was a big show. A big deal because of it's nature. It was a grand event. Then we cut to highlites of the NFL/WWF Superstar Battle Royal and the Hogan/Bundy Cage match for the WWF title. Then we are treated to Roddy Piper taking on Mr.T in a boxing match. WrestleMania III (1987) - This chapter we begin with Andre the Giant taking on Hulk Hogan for the WWF title. A great match. Then we hear from WWF Senior Director of WWF TV, Kerwin Silfies, he talks about how it was a great match but not the BEST in the world. And he also comments on how Andre wasn't in good shape for thge match. Then we go to Pat Patterson and he talks about being in the crowd during the match and said it was a one of a kind moment. WrestleMania IV (1988) - This Chapter we start with highlites of the WWF title tournament Matches then we go straight to the 2nd Round in which Hulk Hogan faced Andre the Giant. Then we go to the finals where Randy Savage took on Ted DiBiase for the vacant WWF title. WrestleMania V (1989) - This Chapter we start with RUN DMC opening up this WrestleMania. Highlites of the event play as RUN DMC play. Then we go to Randy Savage defending his WWF title against Hulk Hogan. WrestleMania VI (1990) - This chapter we start with Highlites of the many matches of WM6. Then we cut to Steve Allen (that damn PTC a-hole) making fun of WWF superstars then we go to The mainevent of Ultimate Warrior taking on Hulk Hogan in a title .vs. title match. WrestleMania VII (1991) - This chapter we start with Highlites of Sgt. Slaughter's huge heel turn. Then we cut to the main event match between Sgt. Slaughter taking on Hulk Hogan for the WWF title. WrestleMania VIII (1992) - This chapetr we begin with Highlites of the event then we go to the end of the Hogan/Justice match. After that we are treated to the start of the lead to Ric Flair taking on Randy Savage for the WWF title. WrestleMania IX (1993) - We start off with Silfies talking about how bad he felt for Jim Ross wearing a toga for his first wrestlemania event. Then we hear Finkle talk about how funny it was. In a clip with Finkle someone off camera yells Pizza, Pizza at Finkle. Funny stuff! Then we go to the end of the Bret Hart/Yokozuna match in which Hulk Hogan is challenge to a quick match for the WWF title by Mr.Fuji! WrestleMania X (1994) - We begin with Men on a Mission rapping to highlites of the event. Then we go to the Ladder match between Shawn Michaels & Razor Ramon for the WWF IC Championship belt! WrestleMania XI (1995) - We start off with Lawrence Taylor taking on Bam Bam Bigelow then cut to the big Diesel/Shawn Michaels Match for the WWF title! WrestleMania XII (1996) - We start off with different highlites of the event then we are treated to the 60 minute IronMan match for the WWF title between Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels. WrestleMania 13 (1997) - We are treated first to highlites of the different matches at WM13 then we cut to Stone Cold .vs. Bret Hart with special ref Ken Shamrock. WrestleMania XIV (1998) - We begin this chapter with the Chris Warren band's redition of USA anthem. Then cut to clips of the event. Then we are treated to Shawn Michaels taking on Stone Cold for the WWF title with special enforcer Mike Tyson. After that we are treated to hearing Vince McMahon's thoughts. He talks about Shawn Michaels being injury and still giving a grade A+++ performence and how Austin was on the verge of being big and it was totally unpredictable about how Mike Tyson was going to act. WrestleMania XV (1999) - Basicly this chapter is only Stone Cold .vs. The Rock for the WWF title. WrestleMania 16 (2000) - Basicly this is just the video they played before the Fatal Fourway Match for the WWF title at WM2K! All in all this was a great free DVD. Well worth it because once you think about it you get a CD with some kick ass trackz and then a free DVD.
