For any new company wanting to put on a Pay Per View, they should note that In Demand is asking for a $250,000 per event guarantee from promotions. What this would mean is that promoters would make ZERO money from the show unless they made $500,000 or more from the show. Note that Pay Per View money is divided in half on revenue, as the cable company would make both the guarantee and their half of the revenue, which is why at $500,000, a promoter makes nothing.
This summer, the WB Network will have a show called Mucha Lucha! on Saturday Mornings. It will be a comedy about the world of Lucha Libre, with masked wrestlers living by the usual Mexican code of masked wrestlers (honor the mask and don't take it off for anything, etc.).
Early ticket sales for the WWA have been disappointing for the May tour. They weren't even able to sellout the ringside seats on the first day, as you could get second row tickets on the May 23rd show in Brighton.
On the England tour, they are advertising Sid Vicious, Ernest Miller, Carl Oullet, Disco Inferno, Eddy Guerrero, Brian Christopher, Buff Bagwell, Christopher Daniels, Nova, Konnan, Stevie Ray, Rey Misterio Jr., Midajah, Scott Steiner, Sabu, Crowbar, Nathan Jones, and the Hardcore midgets, Tio and Puppet. Note, again, that many of these wrestlers aren't under contract, and some, like Misterio and Eddy Guerrero, are close to signing with the WWF.
The England tour is billing Sid Vicious as the "World's Dangerous Man in Wrestling", Jerry Lynn as a former WWF Cruiserweight champion (he held the LIGHTWEIGHT title), and Eddy Guerrero as a former WWF "Middleweight" champion.
Lenny Lane and Lodi are off the WWA tour since Lenny Lane tore his achilles tendon while playing a pick up game of basketball. He will be out of action until the fall.
The WWA tour of Australia may be cut down to just 3 dates out of 10 days due to a possibility of one show getting cancelled.
The XWF is talking about coming to Texas to run some houseshows in late April, and then running some shows in the Carolinas for the first weekend of May.
