Sunday Night Heat Report for 3/24
Reported by Sparky
Opening
Recap on Linda McMahon's announcement concerning the draft and brand split that will happen tomorrow night on RAW.
1st Match: Big Valbowski vs Lance Storm
Val comes out and gives his usual "Make one lucky lady's dream come true." Val picks a cute brunette and asks her to unleash the Big Valbowski. For our disturbing comment of the night, Tazz loves watching Val put his tongue down girls' throats. Truly frightening. Lance Storm enters to a massive boo from the crowd. Tazz mentions how all the time in Canada made him feel French. That might explain liking to watch Val. Match finally starts. Big suplex from Val. Storm gets tossed onto the floor. Instead of talking about the match, Tazz and Cole keep plugging the draft. Storm reverses a neckbreaker into a Russian Leg Sweep and then into an odd submission move. Val breaks by reaching the rope. Gutwrench Powerbomb by Val into a 2-ct pin. Val hits Storm with a Bulldog. Storm rolls Val into the 1/2 Boston Crab but Val reaches the ropes again. Val on the top rope. Storm throws his elbow pad and then tosses Val off the top. German Suplex into a bridge pin for the 2 ct. Storm misses the Super Kick and Val knocks him down. Money Shot for the 1-2-3.
Winner by Pinfall: Big Valbowski
Meanwhile...Backstage
Bubba's eye makeup...I mean black eye looks wicked. D'Von asks Bubba if he's having second thoughts about putting Stacey through a table. No, Bubba's just fine with that. He was thinking about the Dudz being the best ever. How they've beaten everyone there is to beat. How they've won the ECW, WCW, and WWF titles and no one can take that away. How after 7 years of work, they may be split up in the draft. Things may be different come tomorrow. Testify, brother...testify.
Up Next --> Dudleyz vs Big Show/Kane
Later --> Intercontinental Title Match: RVD (c ) vs Mr. Perfect
Back from commercial Cole plugs WWF.com
2nd Match: Dudleyz vs Big Show/Kane
Dudleyz come out to the ring while Tazz and Cole keep spouting about the draft. Oh, and Forceable Entry comes out Tuesday. The Big Show's music hits to remind us that there is a match in here somewhere. Flames pop and out comes Kane. Bubba starts against Kane and Kane just takes the hits. Kane's a bad man. And as my roommate BHZ put it, Bubba looked at D'Von the way Butters looks at Cartman to say "Uhhh....I dunno about this" and D'Von just looks back like "Kenny would do it." Kane smacks around Bubba. Big Show in to drive that lard butt into Bubba. Big Show clotheslines both the Dudz. 2 ct on Bubba. Show catches D'Von off the top rope but is interrupted by Bubba. Double backdrop on Show. D'Von goes for the Wasssup drop on Show. "D'Von! Get the tables!" Crowd goes wild. Kane starts smacking D'Von around outside. Double Suplex on Kane through the table. Oooh...Kane tastes wood...with his legs. Double face plant on Show. Bubba signals for 3D. D'Von jumps on Show's back in a sleeper move ala the Princess Bride. Kane gets tagged in and puts a decent spinebuster on Bubba. Top rope clothesline from Kane. Pin broken up by D'Von. Big Show and Kane each chokeslam one of the Dudz and Kane pins Bubba for the win.
Winners by pinfall: Big Show/Kane
Back from commercial we have a Tough Enough 2 Recap. Welcome this week to the Real World in Cali...of wait...this is Tough Enough 2. Guys have to wrestle in jock straps and the girls in bikinis. As Tito would say, smell those ratings. We end showing that Hawk has some serious issues.
Up next --> Rikishi vs Goldust
Plug for Forceable Entry out on Tuesday
Stacker 2 Recap of Brock Lesnar's debut on RAW with Paul Heyman.
3rd Match: Goldust vs Rikishi
Enter Goldust in Letterbox. Cole discusses how Maven ended up with the Hardcore title at Wrestlemania X-8. Enter the Ass of Rikishi. More from Cole about the draft. Stare down and Goldust does the body stroking thing. Personal Observation: How did wCw get it trouble with the West Hollywood Blondes when the WWF hasn't gotten any flack for Goldust? That guy is more stereotypical than any other wrestler out there...except maybe for Chuck and Suck. Speaking of Chuck and Suck, Cole mentions the fashion advice given by their new manager Rico (Does he get to be Blow or something?) More on the draft as Cole tells us that the nWo will be drafted as a unit. Oh hey, the match. Big legdrop on Goldust. Neckbreaker on Rikishi. Superkick from Rikishi lays out Goldust. Rikishi drags him to the corner for the Bonzai Drop and an easy 1-2-3.
Winner by pinfall: Rikishi
Next --> Hulkamania returns
Tough Enough 2 commercial (same one as always)
Hulkamania Returns...
Last Monday the crowd couldn't stop chanting "Hogan, Hogan". At Wrestlemania X-8, Rock vs Hogan, Icon vs Icon. Hogan says he expected to be the one on top, but no matter what, there will be Rock vs Hogan one more time. Finally........the Rock says something! And finally Hulk Hogan has come back to the Hulkamaniacs. It would be the Rock's honor to go one on one with Hogan any place, any time. X-8 beatdown by the nWo on Hogan shown and Hogan tears off the nWo shirt. Last Thursday: Rock vs Nash. Rock gets beat down but fights back against Hall and Nash. People's Elbow on Nash but Hall interrupts to get the DQ. Rock gets Jacknifed through the announcer's table. Hogan walks in for the save (gotta watch the hips). Hogan hulks up and smacks around Hall and Nash until that greasy guy Syxx...I mean X-Pac runs in with a chair to crack Hogan with. More beatings with the chair and X-Pac gets to spray NWO on Hogan's back!
The nWo are back to 3 strong and will be drafted together no matter what.
Next --> RVD vs Mr. Perfect
Promo for the draft.
Lugz Boot of the Week: 5-Star Frog Splash on William Regal gives RVD the win and the Intercontinental title at X-8.
4th Match: Intercontinental Title: RVD (c ) vs Mr. Perfect
Enter Mr. Perfect to the Perfect MIDI orchestra. In come RVD to the biggest pop of the night. RVD does a little jig for the crowd. RVD plays around with the crowd. Snapmare and the flip over the neck pull by Perfect. Back Kick to Perfect sets him up for the Rolling Thunder. 2 ct with Perfect's foot on the ropes. Perfect pins RVD for 2 while cheating with his own feet on the ropes. Kick to Perfect followed by the 5-Star Frog Splash for the win.
Winner by pinfall and still Intercontinental Champion: Rob Van Dam
