Overnight Smackdown rating, Hulk Hogan, Split news, more

Tonight's edition of WWF.com's Byte This! will have a mock draft on it. This is probably going to be done since Byte This has no guest this week. It starts at 4 pm.

Last night's WWF Smackdown did a 5.5 in the overnight ratings market. This helped lead UPN to #4 among the networks, behind NBC, CBS, and ABC. (This isn't especially bad since Smackdown was going head to head with the Duke vs. Indiana NCAA basketball game)

Hulk Hogan has handled himself well backstage, thus far, as he has been very friendly with the wrestlers backstage, despite his usual focus on himself and the programs he's in. This is completely different from the attitude of the backstage on Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, whom from other reports, aren't very well liked. Hogan does hang out with Hall and Nash regularly, but he's considered to be completely different than those 2.

So what about the Champions for the draft? For now, it's said that the singles World Champions (both Heavyweight men's and Women's) will be drafted. Therefore, if Triple H and Jazz remain champions by Monday, Flair or Vince are able to draft them, despite the rule that the singles World champions can travel to both shows. The reason this will be done is for the fact that when a World champion loses his or her title, they will have a division to wrestle in once their championship reign is over.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal's The Wrestling Angle (above link) did a "WWF mock draft" in our weekly website column, selecting who we thought are the top 40 wrestlers in the WWF. To simplify matters, tag teams were chosen as one group, even though the WWF claims individuals will be drafted in its draft on Monday's Raw.

Also, I notice the cards are at WWF.com up for the two house shows next week in Gainesville and Jacksonville. Both cards are identical with nine matches, headlined by Stone Cold vs. Undertaker.
