NEW AIWF Australian Women's Champion Crowned
By Derek McBride
Dec 9, 2012 - 2:31:49 AM

Last night I had the pleasure of witnessing the crowning of the AIWF Australian Women's Championship. Both Storm and Sara Jay poured their hearts into the match and made the title actually mean something. I've witnessed many title matches in Queensland and too often the title is just a gimmick used in an attempt to make the match different from the others on the card.

But last night at GWE-Sports Entertainment, this match was different. Storm has the image of being the top baby face in Queensland, however her unexpected heel-turn allowed Storm to breath new life into her character.

Sara Jay, who battled troll chants from the crowd, over came the fan-favorite to walk away with her hand raised high. She is defiantly the hottest female wrestler I've seen in recent months.

GWE have promoted the AIWF for the past month and we were left wondering just how AIWF was going to fit into the scheme of things. Whilst the crowd was intimate, the matches were beyond what I was expecting.

Ive read all the pollitical BS about Queensland Wrestling on Facebook so I decided to go along for myself and see what all the fuss was about. I will be going to the next show.

Full results of GWE Final Reign were...

- Linx Lewis Jr def SenMax to win the Southern Cross Title
LLJ is my new favorite. LLJ has come back from a career ending injury to champion in only a year. He is the next big thing in Aussie Wrestling

- Steve Magnus def Spawn Phoenix
An average match. Both guys need more in-ring experience.

- Mystery def Jake Nova and Renegade
A High-Flying masterpiece. Fast pasted spot-fest that kept me intrigued.

- Joel Bateman challenged and def LLJ in a Barbed Wire Board Match
LLJ in 2 matches made my night. This blood-fest really let the hardcore fan in me outfor some air.

- D-Volt def The Hockleys
A muscled up boy-band wannabe vs two walking skeletons. WWE couldn't right this. It was hilarious. Well done by all.

- Jade Diamond def TNT to retain the GWE World Championship
This is the first time I've see TNT Live. I hope GWE bring him up more. Hitting on the chick from the band mid-match was faunny as and the crowd really got into it.

Over all I give the show 7.5 out of 10.
Oh, and having the Ice-Blocks at the canteen was a great idea. Hot food would have been a bust.
