Ft. Valley, GA. AWN Results for 9/7/2012

Tonight was Adorable Anthony Andrews Appreciation Night and after the champ was introduced, a video message from General Manager Marvelous Michael Stevens was played for him. Stevens praised his BFF and thanked him for being the best tag team partner and friend he has ever had. The video ended with a highlight montage of Andrews himself that had the champ near tears as it played. After the video, Andrews parades around the ring with the AWN Heavyweight title held high.

Bric Bradley vs. Wild Child Joey Kidman
Ever since Kidman made his AWN return this was a match I have been dying to see and I wasn't disappointed. Bradley immediatley began trying to frustrate Kidman by going to the outside early and often. Nothing Kidman tried in the early going seemed to shake Bradley's confidence until a huge german suplex from Kidman took the wind out of his sails. With the crowd behind him, Kidman begins to build up a head of steam and delivers two more back to back germans. As he goes for a third Bradley counters and hoists Kidman up for the GTS. Kidman shows his mettle and escapes, launching himself at Bradley with a huge spear that folds the smaller man in half. Very impressive match for both men and another huge win for the Wild Child!!

Kennedy Riley vs. Encore Zac Edwards
My how quickly things turn around in the AWN. After posting an eight match winning streak, Riley has cooled off and come back down to Earth with a resounding thud. At least he managed a decent offensive outburst in this contest but the Lean, Mean, Beautiful, Bald Machine continues to gain momentum heading into his showdown with CJ Awesome and Redemption. Edwards is in control until a missed leg drop from the top rope gives Riley a glimmer of hope and he takes advantage with an attack of his own. It is short lived however as Edwards regainc control and connects with the Mic Check for the win. After the match he congratulates Riley on a hard fought contest and says that not only does he want to take the Southern Unified Title away from CJ Awesome at Redemption, he wants to make him look bad when he does it. He announces that he wants a Texas Death Match, or as Awesome knows it, a Sin City Street Fight!

AWN Tag Team Champions, The Unit vs. No Remorse
Love them or hate them, Stunt Marshall and CJ work well as a tag team and are truly worthy of holding the tag team titles. They take advantage of Referee Jeff Hawk everytime he turned his back, working Bubbs Rage with a series of no tags and double team manuvers as his frustrated partner, Pain, argued in vain with Hawk. After the tag is finally made, Pain clears the ring and scores a sit down chokeslam/powerbomb on Awesome for the cover. Hawk counts the pinfall and awards the titles to No Remorse but the Unit argue that Awesome was not the legal man and therefore they should still be champs. They assault No Remorse on the outside with chairs and seem to have added Antwon Jordan, who seated himself at ringside for the duration of this contest and joined the assault after the match, to their ranks. Once he gets back to his feet, Pain demands that GM Stevens give him a rematch.

Once again Neal McGuiness comes out and the crowd is all over him and shows him zero respect. He demands that Mike Money tell him who he will be facing at Redemption. He even speculates that his opponent may be the CEO himself. Money says no and refuses to give Neal any indication who his opponent will be.

BFFs vs. Shawn Hunter & Velvet Jones
Before this match got underway, Stevens reversed the decision from the previous match and announced that The Unit were still AWN Tag Team Champions
A.I.W.F. New South Champion Shawn Hunter showed zero intrest in helping Velvet in any way and from the get go it was obvious that this was nothing but a three on one match disguised as a tag match. To his credit Velvet refused to back down and takes the fight to the BFF. His attack is short lived as the numbers game takes it's toll on him. He does manage a blind tag to Hunter who returns the favor by sending Velvet back in the hard way. Velvet gets the upperhand and makes a cover when Hunter blind sides him from behind, costing Velvet the win. After the match, Hunter assaults Velvet and announces that Stevens has awarded him his choice of opponent ag Redemption and since Velvet has been asking for it, he is gonna get it. Mike Money, sitiing at ringside, announces that this will be an unsanctioned, Lights Out Match and this will be the end of this feud in the AWN. Hunter and Velvet gladly agree.

The Beast Shane Curtis vs. Drew Adler
This was as close to poetry as anyone got on this night. These two showed why they are considered among the best in the state by wokring a hard hitting, technically sound contest, that frankly had everyone entranced. After showing off their chain wrestling prowess, the duo turned it up a notch and began to trade homerun shots looking for the win. This great contest was interrupted however , as Stevens and Andrews hit the ring and assault both men with the intent of sending a clear message to their Redemption opponents. The assault spills to the outside and the fans got an up close view of just how bad the blood is between these four. BFF leave Curtis and Adler laying and exit to a chorus of boos. As Ben Masters closes the show, they return and add an exclamation point by attacking once again. With Redemption only two weeks away, be sure to check out the All Star Wrestling Network's Facebook page for up to the minute announcements and make plans to attend the event, trust me you don not want to miss it!!
