ADRENALINE 10/19/2012
The last show before Halloween Hell and the anticipation could be felt upon entering the Wrestleplex. What would Drew Adler have to say in response to the shocking video of AWN Heavyweight Champion Adorable Anthony Andrews attacking his brother? Would Marvelous Michael Stevens have a final message for The Beast Shane Curtis? These questions and more were answered, here is what went down:
Heritage Champion Encore Zac Edwards took on the debuting Kaiden Knight. Knight resembled Bad News Brown and really made Edwards work for this win. Edwards continues his run towards Halloween Hell and no one has responded to his open challenge. It looks as if he will be kept in the dark with the rest of us untill November 2nd.
Johnny Nix made his return to the AWN and took Bric Bradley by surprise with his mix of quick strike, high risk offense. Bradley struggles for most of this contest but gets his feet under him and records another win.
In solo action, WildChild Joey Kidman, with his cheerleader Kennedy Riley at ringside, took on the monster Pain. Kidman worked hard to get the big man on the mat and once he did he kept him there. Pain tried to rally but Kidman rolls him up out of the corner and gets a win. After the match it is announced that it will be No Remorse vs Kennedy Riley & WildChild vs the masked assailaints at Halloween Hell for AWN Tag Team Gold.
Totally Insane had the dubious honor of taking on a supremely focused Michael Stevens and Anthony Andrews. The crowd was very vocal and firmly behind IamFatality and IamStorm but BFF simply took these two guys to school and record a win. Stevens tells Andrews that he has something he needs to do on his own and the champ exits. Stevens calls out his opponent at Halloween Hell, Shane Curtis and the two face off in the middle of the ring. Stevens tells everyone that he is the best wrestler in the AWN but heaps praise on Curtis as well. He says he wants a straight up, classic wrestling match. He wants to beat Curtis and clear up any doubt who the best is in the AWN. Curtis snatches the mic and begins to speak but before he can Stevens kicks him in the jewels and leaves to a chorus of boos.
Shawn Hunter enters the ring and informs us that his opponent for the night, Velvet Jones, will not be here but Hunter will be more than glad to make the,"I Quit" match at Halloween Hell for the A.I.W.F. New South Championship. He then calls out AWN General Manager Mr. Jones to the ring. Jones enters and says it is unfortunate that Velvet can't be here but since the fans were promised a Shawn Hunter match, he was gonna give them one. He says he has two opponents ready to go. Bric Bradley and Kennedy Riley enter the ring but Bradley quickly decides that he wants none of Hunter and leaves Riley to face the champion on his own. With WildChild on the outside watching, Riley seemed unfazed and took the fight right to Hunter but it was all for nothing. After a few offensive moves, Hunter decides he has had enough and takes control by delivering a couple of the hardest chops in the business. Long story short, Hunter DESTROYED Riley and the crowd loved it.
Next we had a contract signing for the main event at Halloween Hell between the number one contender, Drew Adler and AWN Heavyweight Champion Adorable Anthoy Andrews. With his BFF by his side, Andrews is cool and confident and reminds us all that he has been champ for a year and that is not about to change for someone like Adler. He signs the contract and taunts Adler to attack him, thereby forfeiting his right to the match. Adler is angry about the attack on his brother but says he has worked hard for the opportunity and nothing will make him happier than holding the gold up and telling his brother that he is the new champ. He finishes by saying that he may not be able to touch Andrews but there is nothing saying that he can't touch Stevens. With that, he delivers a huge kick leaving Stevens laying and exits with the fans chanting his name.
Dangerous Danny Horne & Neal McGuiness took on Encore Zac Edwards and the debuting Curry Kid. Curry Kid elctrified the crowd and even inspired Edwards to show off his dance moves. The crowd was all over Horne and he seemed unable to block them out long enough to maintain any focus early. Neal seems to stabilize them and together they kept Edwards on their side of the ring and in trouble. Edwards makes the hot tag to Curry Kid and as the momentum shifts away from him and his partner, Neal once again walks away before the match is over. Horne takes a superkick and get pinned as Neal heads to the back.
