Drew Adler & Leon McMichaels vs. The Unit (Stunt Marshall & Internet Heritage Champion CJ Awesome)
Winners: Drew Adler & Leon McMichaels
The Unit wasted a lot of time stalling around and playing head games with their opponents but once the action got started it was lightning quick. Like him or not, it was good to see Stunt get in the ring to compete and he showed very little, if any, ring rust. In the end there was simply too much Adler and McMichaels for the new team to over come. Great opener that really got the crowd going.
Ben Masters is in the ring and brings Kennedy Riley out to discuss Riley's time in the AWN, especially his recent in ring debut. Riley says he is thankful for his opportunities but still has a long way to go. His first real promo is short lived as he is interrupted by BFF (“Marvelous” Michael Stevens and AWN Heavyweight Champion “Adorable” Anthony Andrews) in all their glory. They cut right to the chase, they are the only real team in the AWN and they want a shot at AWN Tag Team Championships tonight.
Phil White & T-Lo Green vs. The Professor
Winner: The Professor
For those who have never seen The Professor in action before, shame on you. He must be seen to be believed and White and Green got more than an eyeful from this mountain of a man. White and Green displayed decent skill as a team but simply were overmatched in this contest.
“The New Breed” Shawn Hunter vs. “Dangerous” Danny Horne
Winner: Shawn Hunter
Hunter had a chip on his shoulder from the opening bell but Horne isn’t called Dangerous for nothing. This contest was SNUG as these two guys held nothing back. Horne goes for Frog Splash but misses allowing Hunter to capitalize with a huge Backbreaker for the win.
AJ Steele vs Bubba Rage
Winner: AJ Steele
This was AJ's return to the AWN and the fans made him feel welcomed with the loudest pop in a few shows. Bubba is no slouch in the ring and managed to mount some impressive offense. Steele was not to be denied and delivers a huge Black Hole Slam for the win. After the match, AWN General Manager Mr. Jones comes out and names Steele number one contender for AWN Heavyweight Championship. Title match against Andrews at APOCALYPSE in June.
Smooth and Raines come out to cut a promo. Smooth got on the mic and was upset about BFF demanding a shot at the tag team champs. They feel that they should have another shot for the gold and want a shot at the winners of tonight’s match.
Ox Madison vs “The Beast” Shane Curtis
Shane gets on the mic and challenges Hunter to a match, The music drops but Ox Madison enters with his eyes firmly set on Curtis. This was a pretty good match that Ox controls a lot of the contest. Curtis seemed unprepared for Madison's offense but made the necessary adjustments and was able to lock on the choke, leaving Baker no choice but to tap. After the bell Shawn Hunter attacks and issues a challenge to Curtis, once and for all at APOCALYPSE!!
AWN Tag Team Title Match
BFF (“Marvelous” Michael Stevens & AWN Heavyweight Champion “Adorable” Anthony Andrews) vs New Age Renegades (Bric Bradley & Steve Stiles)(C)
Winner and New AWN Tag Team Champions: BFF!!
Stevens and Andrews put on a clinic of how a tag team should function. Quick tags, double teams after the tag, keep your opponent in your corner, things the New Age Renegades simply haven't learned yet. BFF are savvy in the ring and took full advantage of the champs’ lack of experience to dominate this contest. Not to be out done, Bradley and Stiles mounted impressive offense of their own but the Best Friends Forever would not be denied and were once again crowned AWN Tag Team Champions.
