VENDETTA 2013
One hundred people packed the Wrestleplex for the yearly spectacle known as VENDETTA. This has always been a killer show and a glance at the card was all that was needed to see that this year would be no different. Here is what went down:
After months of bad blood and sneak attacks, No Remorse finally had the chance to get their hands on the mysterious Southern Outlaws. However Rage enters the arena alone and Logan Creed appears on screen and informs everyone that he has taken Pain out of the picture for tonight's match up. Rage unwisely decides to defend alone and the Outlaws capitalize. After beating Rage to a pulp, they make the cover and become the new AWN Tag Team Champions. With the gold in their possession, the Outlaws finally decide to unmask and reveal to the fans that they are none other than Marvelous Michael Stevens and Adorable Anthony Andrews, the BFF!!! Andrews goes to the back an returns with the AWN Heavyweight Championship belt in tow. Stevens calls out Mike Money and informs him that tonight's main event, Drew Adler vs AWN Heavyweight Champion Jimmy Rave, will not be taking place. It seems that Rave has decided that since he already had been paid he really had no reason to make the drive and face Adler. Mike Money was beside himself and immediately vacated the title. Adler comes out and is visibly upset about what's going down. Mike Money tries to name Adler champ but to his credit Adler refuses. He says he is not the kind of man who accepts a title he doesn't earn and offers an alternative. Adler says no one was there to see Rave anyway, they were there to see him beat Rave up inside the steel cage and a steel cage is what they are gonna get. He challenges Andrews for tonight and the former champ accepts, vowing to remind everyone why he held the title for so long!
The Six Man Gauntlet match for a future shot at the Middle Georgia Heritage Championship was next. This was an elimination style match and all the competitors had visions if gold in their minds Kennedy Riley scores a pinfall over the Cosmic Jammer but is so stunned to get a win he doesn't see Johnny Nixx slip into the ring and gets rolled up and eliminated from the matchup. Next in is a new comer named Jay Malone who did little to endear himself to the fans but he catches Nixx napping and eliminates him. Kameron Kade makes quick work out of Malone and earns himself a spot in the final matchup. His opponent, Prince Tita, enters and attacks with controlled fury that had Kade off balance early. Kade, making only his second appearance in the AWN, already seems to have the support of the fans and with them firmly behind him, he is rallies and scores a pinfall for the win!
Logan Creed comes out in his jeans and leather jacket and cuts a in ring promo about how he is the biggest and baddest man in the AWN and now that he has eliminated Pain, no one can stop him. As he smiles the lights go out and when they come back on, Pain is in the ring. The duo brawl all over the building and what is sure to be a blood feud has begun!
This was supposed to be American Mayhem's night for a shot at the number one contenders spot but with the BFF capturing gold earlier in the evening, this became a statement match instead. Their opponents, Totally Insane, felt like they had a chance to prove they belonged in the championship discussion and took the fight right to Jacobs and Edwards in this match. This was a really good match and the crowd was split right down the middle for the entire contest. These two teams earned each others respect in this one but in the end, American Mayhem's experience gave them an advantage and they hit the Red White and Bruised finisher for the win!!
Drew Adler and Adorable Anthony Andrews enter the steel cage with looks of pure determination. No DQ, no count outs, the only way to win was pinfall, submission, or getting out of the cage. Before the bell can sound, BFF attack Adler, giving Andrews a slight, short lived advantage. Once Stevens was forced outside and the match made official, Adler erased any doubt that this was his night. With the crowd firmly behind him, Drew fended of every attack Andrews was able to make but as the match wore on the cage began to come into play. Late in the contest there was a clear momentum switch and Adler looked to put Andrews away with the Drew Drop when Stevens decided he had seen enough and enters the cage. They begin beating Adler again and it seemed that the BFF were on their way to stealing the AWN Heavyweight Championship when Shane Curtis decided to get involved. Curtis had been out of action since Christmas Chaos and immediately went after Marvelous Michael Stevens, locking him in the choke and keeping him occupied long enough for Adler to come to his senses and make the cover on Andrews for the win. The crowd lost it as Mike Money presented the gold and the new AWN Heavyweight Champion, Drew Adler!
