Monday Afternoon Pre Raw Thoughts
Brock vs Cena part 2 (or is it 3... or even 4?)
After the story told at SummerSlam, I'm very confused and interested where they will go from here. Maybe a more competitive match up? It's what makes the most sense, but it still feels empty and hollow. I'm still thinking that the outcome of this match is as predictable as the SummerSlam bout. The only question is how they get there. Maybe an even more direct squash? Maybe Batista makes an appearance to announce his intentions for the title? Previews
My next question is about the stipulation for this match. A few have suggested making it an “I Quit” match. I truly cannot see Cena tapping out right in the middle of the “Never Give Up” push with new colors and merch designs. That's not going to be sacrificed. That's why I sense a “Last Man Standing” match taking place, and Cena taking another vicious beating until the point where he can't get back up.
Hall of Fame Forum
I personally don't give a shit about this segment, but it could still be a great idea if it was being saved for the WWE Network. Putting it at the top of the show is not bad at all, but I highly doubt it'll draw more than any main event caliber segment that is announced ahead of time. You put on the front page of wwe.com that we'll have Bray Wyatt vs John Cena start the show, I'm betting you'd get the same ratings. If you're going to pay the extra cash to bring in 3 Hall of Fame names to discuss the Cena vs Brock rematch, which will be aired on the WWE Network, then use them on a special aired only on the Network.
If Brock is a surprise appearance tonight, he'll come back to face the old timers like he did for Hulk's birthday. I doubt that will happen, so instead we'll be treated to Paul Heyman coming out to have a war of words with 3 legends.
Maybe this segment won't be so bad after all?
Quickly, Dean Ambrose has made a major impact on the WWE Universe. Mixing the abrasive attitude that helped make CM Punk a star, and the ass-kicking no nonsense machismo of Stone Cold Steve Austin, he's going to be sorely missed while he's away filming this movie. While Roman Reigns might be WWE's golden boy, it's quite likely Ambrose becomes the next underground IWC favorite that rises to the top despite WWE's motives. We might be seeing Ambrose vs Lesnar at Mania 31, if the Reigns push fails the way I suggest it might as it follows the path of the face push of both Sheamus and Cena. I wouldn't bet on it, but it's a much more likely scenario than Bryan vs Lesnar taking place.
Adam Rose / Bo Dallas
It's a real shame when WWE gives up so quickly. I truly think there's major potential with Adam Rose as a fun babyface that can mature into more. Bo Dallas might not be my cup of tea, but he was starting to catch his stride as a heel. Much like how they gave up on Brodus Clay, Fandango, and countless others, WWE seems to refuse to give time to any performer that tries to get their start up in a comedy role. This is despite success found in Santino Marella, and countless angles based on silly comedy. It's unusual that WWE would push so many storylines with someone like Hornswaggle, a non-wrestling performer for the most part, but dump talents like Adam Rose without putting in any effort.
WWE Creative doesn't just fail major talents like CM Punk with pseudo pushes, they also fail the performers looking to break out.
Divas Match Workout
As of tonight, when a Divas match comes on that doesn't involve Paige or AJ, I'll be doing push ups and sit ups. I may also do this for other boring segments. I'll try to keep a tally of my exercise. Is it interesting? No, no more than any of the housewives on facebook giving updates on what they watched on Maury. But, it's still likely to be more interesting than whatever WWE is putting on.
I am addicted to this game. I ****ing love it. Get on it, but don't rush into doing any King of the Ring tournaments just yet. You'll end up spending the next 2 days doing nothing but building up those cards, collecting boosts, and all you'll get out of it by winning the tournament are 2 Damien Sandow Super Rare cards. Meanwhile, my roster that earned me that prize consisted of pro SR cards of Andre, Big Show, Batista and Del Rio.
For Sandow? I would have prefer a Bella or Funkadactyl.
Great game. I'm giving myself a detox of 24 hours without it. It's not easy – that's how great the game is.
Tuesday Night Titans
Tomorrow night, your Tuesday Night Titans will once again be LIVE. We have yet to choose a topic, so hopefully something from tonight's Raw can light a fire in our creative juices. We will still be reviewing an ECW show; 1995's Barbed Wire, Hoodies, and Chokeslams will be honored this week.

The WWE Universe is still buzzing about the brutal beating John Cena suffered at the hands of Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. To kick off Raw, WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair will be in the house to weigh in on the upcoming Brock-Cena rematch at Night of Champions. And following a week of relative silence for the normally outspoken Superstar, Cena will be at Raw to address the WWE Universe before he battles the sinister Bray Wyatt. What else awaits? WWE.com offers some theories and predictions.

2. Cena addresses SummerSlam mauling
John Cena didn’t have a chance. At SummerSlam, one of the most resilient Superstars in history was utterly ravaged by Brock Lesnar, a monster who maliciously toyed with Cena’s barely-conscious form for what seemed like an eternity before finally finishing off his prey with an F-5. “Hustle, Loyalty and Respect,” it seemed, was no match for Lesnar’s superhuman cruelty. Now, as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Beast Incarnate rules WWE without mercy, without compassion and without an ounce of remorse.
3. The World’s Strongest Patriot
The Hall of Pain might have to open an international wing. As Lana was boasting about Rusev’s SummerSlam Flag Match victory over Jack Swagger last week on Raw, imposing former U.S. Olympian Mark Henry defended Old Glory by taking down “The Hero of the Russian Federation” with a thunderous World’s Strongest Slam that you could have probably felt in Moscow.
No Superstar from any nation has been able to defeat Rusev by pinfall or submission, but The Bulgarian Brute has never faced anyone quite like The World’s Strongest Man. Will Henry make The Ravishing Russian eat her words by humbling the so-called “super athlete”? Regardless, expect an international incident this week on Raw.
4. An all-new Nikki Bella?
Last week, Nikki Bella severed her relationship with her sister Brie in a stunning act of betrayal. She cost her twin a huge match against Stephanie McMahon at SummerSlam, then went on to lambaste Brie on Raw before sending her sister to the canvas with a forceful slap.
Without her sister by her side, the bitter Bella has already reaped success, having defeated Emma on WWE Main Event last Tuesday night. How will Nikki’s new attitude pay off this week? Furthermore, will Brie be able to rebound in light of this Bella Twins rift?
5. Rollins makes Ambrose hit the bricks
At the conclusion of one of the craziest Falls Count Anywhere Matches in Raw history last Monday night, Seth Rollins forced the referee to stop the bout when he Curb Stomped Dean Ambrose onto a pile of cinder blocks. Thanks in no small part to an assist from Kane, Mr. Money in the Bank sent his nemesis out of the arena on a stretcher and, to date, Ambrose’s whereabouts are unknown.
Having dispatched the perennial thorn in his side, where does Rollins go from here? Does he dare attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar? Will he aim to crush another Superstar under his combat boot to assert himself as WWE’s dominant rising star? Now that Ambrose appears to be out of his two-toned hair, look for Rollins’ hot streak to continue this week.

Intro – Hall of Fame Forum
This is bad. Cena is actually saving this.
:So they brought back these legends to set up a standard Cena promo? The only person of interest from that panel was Hogan. His insight worked and fit what they needed to project. The problem is that Cena needed someone to doubt him to set up his retort. If that was te case, you only need either Shawn or Ric out there with Hulk, not both.
The fact is that legends rarely add much to today's style of broadcast. They were raised on improv, while today is scripted bullet points. Hogan rarely flubbed back in the day, yet can barely get through a promo without a botch anymore. It's not age, but the environment. In TNA, Hogan was a lot smoother. He'd still flub, but it tended to be because he wasn't aware of what he was talking about as much. Thankfully, Cena and Lesnar are big enough portions of the roster that he won't mess that up as easily. He still understands the nature of the business, but has a harder time adapting to the scripts.
In theory, Shawn should be the most comfortable, but it also seems obvious that he's moved on mentally from wrestling. He likely doesn't watch on a weekly basis and doesn't follow storylines. It shouldn't shock me if he was told how the SummerSlam main event went down 5 minutes before his music marked his entrace.
Ric, well, he's worn out his welcome in many ways. If he could be used in something substantial, it would be a different story. But having him show up for a week here and there without any real rhyme or reason makes it harder to be interested in his appearances.
So, yes, Cena saved this segment, even if all he did was deliver what he would have done had there not been a forum.
Nitro on the Network
Very glad to see Nitros being added to the WWE Network. I was never a major WCW fan growing up. Even in WWF's hardest times, I stuck with their program more than WCW. Now, I'm not worried about picking sides, and I can watch on my own schedule. I'll appreciate the wrestling, and the storylines. I might not be in the moment, but it'll be fresh for me. Wrestling works aged in the same way I'm now enjoying catching NYPD Blue for the first time.
Swagger vs Rusev
These matches have been so fun. Swagger just works better when he's using his size the way he has recently. Against an opponent who also uses his strength and body mass, it makes for great chemistry. Swagger is a terrific wrestler who is still vastly underrated.
These “TKO” endings aren't nearly as effective without some bleeding. Wouldn't a ketchup packet exploding in the mouth be all that would help this ending make the most sense?
I'm curious where they are going with JBL's commentary and Zeb Colter's absence. My thinking is that Zeb will turn on Swagger, and find a new Real American to feud with. Maybe Big E?
Or maybe Bo Dallas? ****, I hope not.
Van Dam vs Cesaro
Raw is Rematch? A rematch isn't always a bad thing, but when the original matches didn't light things up, and when the outcome is predictable, it's far less interesting. Cesaro has obviously been provoking Sheamus recently, and the commentary is obviously slanted towards the heel win.
Paige vs Natalya
I really like Nattie's new ring gear. The shorts are very nice on her curves, and the short top with the cleavage heart cut out help even more.
Though, Paige and AJ still get my motor running much more.
I'm sensing a Triple Threat match for the Divas Title at NoC.
Eulogy of Dean Ambrose
Off segment to have without Ambrose interrupting. I'm still expecting an interruption, but I'm unsure who could fit in that role.
Of course, Roman Reigns! I feel stupid for not seeing that coming.
Usos vs Dust Bros.
This should be great. No sit ups during this one.
The door is open for the rematch... Heel turn? Really? Why? RybAxel, Wyatts, Ascension... and now Gold and Stardust are heels? Leaving Usos and the World's Strongest Giant Team as the sole fan favorites... so odd. Especially considering how untouched this team was with the new gimmick. The fans were cheering for the Goldust promo asking for the rematch... Strange.
Brock Lesnar segment
So, they have an interview with the WWE World Champion who garners mainstream attention, and they don't mention it until half way through the show with only a 4 minute commercial break to delay it... This should have been hyped all night.
Reigns vs Kane/Rollins
I had a really good shit. Then I came back to hear “I wish you died in the womb.”
Instead of sit ups, I was immediately depressed, and decided to eat Doritos instead.
Oh, a Reigns match! Let's get The Chive up...
Los Matadores vs Slater Gator
I have been hearing a lot about this new team, I'm excited to see them on Raw for the first time.
Cena/Big Show/Henry vs Wyatt Family
I'm so glad Cena lost brutally so that we can get more of the same Cena we've seen for the last decade.
Bed time. Weak Raw. Tune in tomorrow.
And on that note, Peace out
