Alberto Del Rio
I expect controversy here, because my comments on LOP forums have been the center of lots of controversy about this topic, and I'm not changing my mind. First, I wouldn't believe everything in the dirtsheets in the first place, but if you are going to trust the headlines, at least have the brain power to be reasonable about it. I will use Kill_CoLD's post in the forums to summarize it:
“Guy A made a comment about not cleaning up his plate. Told them to tell Del Rio to do it.
Guy B went and told Del Rio.
Del Rio got mad and searched for guy A. He finds guy A and confronts him. Guy A doesn't bitch up and stands by what he said. Regardless of what it is.
Del Rio gets even madder and hits guy.
Now, there's nothing racist in that description. I'm not saying the comment was or wasn't racist, but that there's no way to prove it by the story alone. Even if we had a verbatim transcript, that does not relate tone or context. People jumping to the racism issue are looking to be angry.''
Again, as CoLD said, Del Rio screwed Del Rio. Not racism.
Hogan's Birthday / N.W.O. Reunion
It should be a fun time to see the gang back together. I just hope this is all used to build an angle. Maybe have Bray Wyatt interfere in the celebrations, only for Jericho to come out for the save? It's a feud that could use the extra attention, and Bray with Harper and Rowan going after Hulk, Hall and Nash would make for a great showdown.

The Monday Night RAW Episode for the 11th of August, 2014: The One Duel Performance
If Hulk Hogan wanted a blockbuster Raw for his birthday, he’s definitely getting it! Not only will the WWE Hall of Famer party it up with legions of Hulkamaniacs around the world Monday night, but he’ll bear witness as WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and the monstrous Brock Lesnar come to Raw just six nights before their SummerSlam clash. What else awaits on Raw? WWE.com has some ideas.
1. The Beast unleashed on Raw?
WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena might have eked out a victory over Brock Lesnar back in 2012 at Extreme Rules, but at SummerSlam, The Champ faces a beast evolved — a behemoth whose affinity for inflicting pain has only grown since he ended The Undertaker’s legendary Show of Shows winning streak at WrestleMania 30.
The Beast Incarnate has been brutally honest about the horrors he’s preparing to inflict on Cena in pursuit of the WWE World Heavyweight Title, but will Lesnar get his hands on the Cenation leader early? With both Cena and Lesnar scheduled to appear on this week’s Raw, just about anything could happen between these ring warriors before The Biggest Fight of the Summer.
2. Happy birthday, brother!
Whatcha gonna do, birthday candles, when Hulkamania runs wild on you?!
On Raw, the WWE Universe is invited to the ultimate birthday party for WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, which promises special guests and other surprises as The Hulkster makes his return to Raw.
Who will be on the elite guest list? Will Hogan “Hulk up” on some birthday gifts? No matter what happens, this will be a party you don’t want to miss. Send your own birthday wishes to The Hulkster by tweeting @HulkHogan using the hashtag #HBDHulkHogan!
3. The Cerebral Assassin(s)
Brie, are you sure you want to face Stephanie McMahon at SummerSlam? Last week on Raw, the Authority matriarch punctuated an already-tense SummerSlam contract signing by delivering her husband’s signature Pedigree to both Bella Twins — first to Nikki, then to Brie. Despite this being Stephanie’s first official in-ring WWE match in more than a decade, she clearly isn’t suffering from any ring rust and has perhaps taken a few pages out of Triple H’s playbook as she trains for this anticipated encounter. Will Stephanie make Brie regret returning to WWE?
4. It’s going down, we’re yelling ‘timber!’
Brie Bella’s back in WWE, but will she soon regret negotiating a match against Stephanie McMahon at SummerSlam? The battle-ready Bella Twin revealed in an exclusive interview on WWE.com that she has no regrets about choosing to face Stephanie Dean Ambrose has spoken! After winning a Beat the Clock Challenge on Raw, the unstable Superstar earned the right to choose the stipulation for his match with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. His choice? A Lumberjack Match, in which Superstars will surround the ring and prevent Mr. Money in the Bank from escaping whatever twisted plans are rolling through Ambrose’s head.
On SmackDown, Ambrose vowed that SummerSlam will be “the day Mr. Money in the Bank goes broke.” Even though Rollins got the best of Ambrose on Friday night in the form of a vicious Curb Stomp, how will he prepare to meet his unhinged nemesis inside a cage of human flesh?
5. Will Reigns defang The Viper?
The nigh-unstoppable Roman Reigns will collide with WWE’s Apex Predator on Sunday in one of the night’s most emotionally charged encounters. Although Randy Orton has cemented himself as one of the most diabolical Superstars in history, at SummerSlam he faces the battle-hardened juggernaut who conquered Kane in a hellacious Last Man Standing Match on last week’s Raw — a defeat that ultimately led to The Demon relinquishing his mask to The Authority. Who will gain critical momentum in the lead-up to The Biggest Party of the Summer?

The History of Summerslam
August 18th, 2013
"Reach For The Stars"
--- Enjoy the show, everyone. Ladies and gentlemen, good evening, you say that seeing is believing... ---
“Ambrose vs Rollins would be perfect for a cage. it makes sense (to keep out interference and force Rollins to face him) and it would be a hell of a gimmick.”
Section ( 8 )
“I like how the Steph/Brie feud revolves around a word they have to censor.”
“In the past three RAWs, we've seen singles wins from Zack Ryder and Heath Slater. Guys, I love you all, but this is the apocalypse.”
“Wow. I think that this was one of the first RAWs to not have the WWE/WHC champion, the Tag Champs, and the US Champ all NOT on the show just 2 weeks before a major PPV. Very interesting.”
StormDragonz Questions to Ponder
1 - How confident are you that John Cena remains the WWE Champion after Summerslam?
Not at all.
2 - What is your personal opinion that Dean Ambrose selected a Lumberjack Match for his match with Seth Rollins at Summerslam?
I'm fine with it. This is technically their first match, after it was booked but canceled thanks to nefarious means at the last PPV. Sure, a cage would have been just as useful in terms of keeping Rollins from running away again, but this feud is technically still building up. It needed a starter gimmick, which the lumberjack match achieves. I do think there are better options, and I understand of others are deflated by the choice, but in the end the goal will not be to end the feud here. This will keep going, so expect the Authority to stack the lumberjacks with their choices leading to a cheap Rollins win, make us craving more revenge from Ambrose.
And because of that, I'm fine with it.
3 - I firmly believe that Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon will be a complete comedy match. Agree, disagree or don't care?
4 - Does it trouble you in any way that neither The Usos nor Sheamus will be defending their championships at Summerslam as of this moment?
Not at all. Several tag teams have been getting pushes, so I still expect a tag team match for the titles. I'm guessing it'll be on the Kick Off portion, or that there will be a match on the Kick Off portion to determine who will get the title shot on the PPV vs the Usos. No problem there.
As for Sheamus, he's been out with the flu. I would rather no angle than a rushed one just to get the title on SummerSlam. Use it for Night of Champions next month instead – if they had an angle in mind.
Live Raw Discussion
Intro – Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman Promo
Legendary as usual. Heyman adding rhymes to his mic work was such an amazing treat.
Reigns vs RybAxel
I really hope Roman loses this one. This isn't about RybAxel needing a push more than Roman, just that it would be such a mistake for the entire tag division. Make it cheap, let Orton interfere, but a win for Roman will put people over the top in regards to turning their backs on him.
I hate the label of the “special events” as SummerSlam Pay Per View. Just ****ing call it “SummerSlam” ****-tards!
A DQ win via vicious beatings works for me. I know we are about to get the post-match beatdown on both former Heyman guys, but it's still a million times better than a victory over a legit tag team.
Roman with a display of his weak promo skills. Wow, that was cringe-worthy.
Rollins vs RVD
Nothing but the freshest matches on Monday Night Raw!
Ambrose showing how to work the crowd. It might have been his weakest promo, but it was still 10 times better than anytime Reigns has had a microphone.
Why are WWE once again using this angle in a prime spot? This is going to bomb so bad.
Bray Wyatt/Jericho One-on-One
Very poor Raw so far, especially for a go-to show like this. I'm hoping this segment brings it up a bit.
It did, but not by much.
John Cena promo
I really think this might have to be one of the worst pre-PPV Raws ever.
Brie vs Stephanie
Why is this storyline getting more screen time than every other feud not involving the World Title? This is ****ing ridiculous.
Heath Slater vs Dolph Ziggler
I forgot about this feud.
I apologize for the short Blog this week. This was a very tough Raw to sit through. I was enjoying a few parts, but there was so much more garbage per ratio than usual. It's a damn shame. Brock/Heyman opening promo was the best, Cena's was pretty good, the Sheamus vs Orton match looked decent from what I saw, but I wasn't very invested in the show by this point. I was digging the Hogan celebration and the guests for the nostalgia, but it ended weakly. I liked Brock coming out, but him looking like a useless **** did nothing for me. Someone should have taken a bump from the F-5, though no one in the ring should have done it. Maybe one of the agents, like Malenko or Finlay? Or have Brock snap on the kimura armlock on any of the old timers, that would have been an easy bump to take at their age.
The end just fell flat. Ah well.
SummerSlam should still be pretty good. I just don't think this Raw did a thing to help sell it.
And on that note, Peace out
