I can't believe it. It's over, it's really over. When I first created this tournament a little over a month ago, I knew it would end one day, but not this soon. I just thought the days would slowly creep by and there would always be another round. Alas, I was wrong. Here we are, at the very end of the competition, and it is time for me to reveal who YOU, the people, chose as the best current WWE Superstar.
However, before we do that, let's look at each finalist's "Road To The End", shall we?
Round 1 - Defeated John Cena, 34-10
Round 2 - Defeated The Miz, 26-7
Round 3 - Defeated Jack Swagger, 35-4
Round 4 - Defeated Dolph Ziggler, 28-7
Round 1 - Defeated Randy Orton, 26-18
Round 2 - Defeated Sheamus, 24-9
Round 3 - Defeated Cody Rhodes, 23-16
Round 4 - Defeated William Regal, 23-12
As you can see, it was not an easy road for either man to arrive at where they are now. CM Punk had to deal with the likes of Cena and The Miz, while Christian was forced to overcome Orton and emerging IWC favorite, Cody Rhodes. Despite all that, they now find themselves battling one-on-one for the ultimate crown. Who has defied the odds and won the first ever BTW tournament? Let's find out.
By a vote of 32-14, the winner, and best current WWE Superstar is...
That's right, ladies and gentlemen. Despite not holding any sort of championship since Hell In A Cell 2010, and spending almost a year without a single Pay-Per-View victory, CM Punk has been chosen as the best current WWE superstar. Christian had his share of supporters throughout the competition, but The Peeps were no match for Punk's cult following. Congratulations, Chick Magnet!
There you have it, broskis. I would like to thank every single person who took the time to vote, whether it was only for one round, or constant emails clarifying your picks. It means a lot to me, it really does.
I have already received many requests to host another tournament in the future, and I shall, but not anytime soon.
In the meantime, let us celebrate the awesomeness otherwise known as CM Punk. He's not as cool as Zack Ryder, but Punk does deserve the win.
