How do you spell "Noc"? S-k-i-l-l-s.
"I'm lost on a road.. don't know which way to go.. I'm losing my mind.. losing control of the wheel, and I'm swervin on and off the road.. I'm lost on a road, but survival is a must.. don't know who I can trust.. I'm livin in a rush.. I don't understand the fuss.. my brain is 'bout to bust.."
"Madness the magnet keeps attractin me.."
I couldn't choose between the two intros, so I just said "fuck it" and posted them both. Gorilla Zoe and Kid Cudi, respectively, bring us this week's lines. Life is pretty crazy sometimes, and the mindsets of both Zoe and Cudi on those songs accurately describe how I feel from time to time. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the column that tiptoes on hell's boundaries.. Hustle Is Posting Right Now. That would make me the most criminally decorated columnist going today.. ya boy, Hustle, back in the building again. It's another sunny day in Honolulu, Hawaii. It's probably not all that sunny wherever you are. Just stating facts. As some great philosophers once said.. be jealous. This week's column will be a bit shorter than usual, and it's just another edition of "Ask Hustle", but I have a lot of things to do today, so my "excuse" is a good one, at least. You know, I think it's about that time. Shall I proceed? (Yes, indeed.) Less dew eet!!
What do you think about Chris Brown putting his hands on Rihanna? (Drew)
Well, first and foremost, I think his career is just about over. He's losing endorsements, and physical abuse towards anyone, let alone a woman, is a helluva blow to his squeaky-clean image. I've actually talked about this subject with a few different fans of Chris Brown over the last few days, and their response was just about unanimous.. they're not supporting the guy anymore, whether it's buying his albums, going to his concerts, or anything in between.
Personally, I have no problems whatsoever with his career being over. Outside of a song or two, I never really cared about the guy to begin with, and for putting hands on Rihanna like that, he deserves as harsh of a punishment as possible. That fucking fuck has the nerve to abuse Rihanna?! Let him rot, or at least let his career be over so he needs to find something "normal" to do with himself.
Ne-Yo's better than he is, anyway.
Do you hate Soulja Boy as much as I do? (Ely T.)
You didn't clarify how much you apparently hate the guy. However, with that said.. no, I don't hate Soulja Boy. Not at all. You won't catch me bumping his albums or anything, but I understand the fact that he has his own market that he caters to, and he does that very well. The people that have been talking shit about him and hate on him just don't understand that point. If you're my age, it doesn't matter whether or not you like the guy and/or his music, because you're not the audience he's out to reach. If you're 15 or so, then it's more relevant.
Personally, I think some of his haters are full of shit (hmm.. that sounds familiar). I rarely ever see any of his videos on MTV or BET, and I even more rarely hear his songs on the radio. I'm sure it's a little different in other markets, but for some of you to be "complaining" about the guy, you'd have to hear his music to be able to form an opinion, no? I know hip-hop fans here that haven't even heard of Soulja Boy because he isn't all over TV and the radio. If you don't like his music, find something else to listen to. It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure that out. So, either these haters are jumping on the bandwagon to hate him without actually hearing his music, or they're secretly listening to his songs and trying not to get made fun of for it. These rappers that are talking shit about him in interviews and on their own songs are becoming more bitch-like by the hour. If you really think he had any part in the "death" of hip-hop, perhaps you should do something to save it yourself, instead of sitting back and crying. When this 18-year-old is looking like the more mature person in these "beefs", there's a problem.
I can never hate on someone who shows as much ability to grind as Soulja Boy has over the last couple of years. He created his own multi-million dollar brand name, and he did it himself. I don't have to be a diehard fan of his music to respect the hell out of his hustle (dig that). Fuckin A.. I can't believe I've gone this far into answering this question. Can't let me rant like this, readers and readerettes.
What are your favorite things about your least favorite wrestlers? (Jay Wong)
Damn you for putting me through this. I'm going to end up feeling really dirty when this question is answered, I know it. I'll charge you for the detox, I guess. Here goes nothing..
Matt Hardy: At least he doesn't take as long to set his moves up as The Great Khali does.. He eventually stopped publicly complaining about the entire Lita/Edge shenaniganery.. He moves around the ring like an 80-year-old man, while he moved around the ring like a 90-year-old man as recently as a month ago.. He gives Emo Kids someone to look up to.. He gives soft, doughy, out-of-shape people someone to look up to
Mr Kennedy: He's injured so often that I don't actually have to watch him wrestle that often.. His movie was probably better than anything Hulk Hogan was featured in (probably, because I haven't seen it, although I have thought about doing so and making a column out of the review).. It was cool to see him hit the Lambeau Leap on Hornswoggle off the top of a ladder at WrestleMania 23
Triple H: The obvious passion for the wrestling business that he has.. Stephanie McMahon.. He's one of the better heels in the business (too bad he's a face, though).. His match against The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 12.. Watching him tap to John Cena at WrestleMania 22.. He took his punishment over the "Curtain Call" incident like a man
R-Truth: He's less of a setback to black people than Virgil being Ted DiBiase's "slave" or Kane & Kole (later renamed as Booker T & Stevie Ray) being led to the ring in shackles by a Southern "Colonel", but it was a really close call.. He's not as bad of a rapper as people like Gucci Mane, Benzino, Plies, and Mims
Matt Morgan: He's extremely agile, especially for his size.. He's the biggest American Gladiator of all-time.. He could reach the top shelf at a grocery store.. He's a better wrestler than El Gigante aka Giant Gonzalez was
Austin Aries: There aren't many people wrestling today that bring as much intensity to their matches.. Lacey.. I did enjoy watching his tag team with Roderick Strong
Cody Rhodes: I really loved the speech he made when he inducted his father into the WWE Hall Of Fame.. When he wrestles, instead of paying much attention, I think back to his father's commentary during the infamous Chris Benoit VS Kevin Sullivan match from WCW that went all over the arena ("Toy-let Tish-uh! They's a lay-deh in the men's restroom! He threw him in-tuh the kuh-mode!), and that makes me smile.. He's less of an embarrassment to his father's legacy (no pun intended) than David Flair was
Michelle McCool: Her bangs are really even.. With Victoria's retirement and Natalya's move to ECW, she may just be the best woman wrestler on Smackdown at the moment.. She's better looking than The Undertaker's Schnozzimus Maximus of an ex-girlfriend, Sara.. At least she stole her finisher from AJ Styles, and not Yokozuna
Abyss: I respect the fact that he's willing to put his body through hell just to entertain the fans.. He hides most of his face behind a mask.. He's less of a Kane rip-off than he used to be
The Undertaker: Probably the single greatest gimmick in wrestling history.. Probably the single greatest entrance in wrestling history.. Even at the age of 107, he's still amazingly agile.. He still has the ability to flip the switch "on" whenever he's involved in a "big" match.. As previously mentioned, he went from dating a 4 (Sara) to a 5 (Michelle McCool), so at least he's moving up in the dating world
Sting: I've never seen someone no-sell chops and make it look as badass as he does.. His matches with Ric Flair were always something special.. He ends every other sentence in his promos with the name of his opponent/target, instead of ending every sentence with it, like he used to do.. Even though he's been hanging on to past glory for far too long, he's still a more believable threat than Jim Duggan is.. He's tight with God, so he should be able to make it into Heaven when his number is called
Charlie Haas: He's a really good tag team wrestler.. The Haas Of Pain was a badass move.. Jackie Gayda.. At least he's not on Raw every week doing lame impressions like he was for a long stretch a little while back
Damn, as you could tell by some of my answers, this was really difficult for me to do. As is the case with just about all of you, your least favorite wrestlers are your least favorite wrestlers for good reason(s), and it's tough to dig and find a whole long list of things to be positive about, without having to be a sarcastic fuck about it. Of course, I'd probably be a sarcastic fuck, even if it was easy to find positive things, but that's not really my point.
What are your least favorite things about your favorite wrestlers? (Jay Wong)
I don't usually like to include two questions from the same person in the same AH edition, but this was a special exception, as I thought the lists would be fun to go over. Feel special, Jay. Here goes nothing again..
John Cena: He doesn't freestyle anymore.. I don't like the new name of The Move Formerly Known As FU.. I fear that his schedule will have him completely worn out in a few years
Samoa Joe: I'm not quite a fan of the current face paint/tribal tattoo thingamajig.. That he's not able to use "Mama Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J (complete with the Godzilla theme to start the song off) as his entrance theme anymore.. That he's in TNA.. He caught a lot of shit from people for his shoot on Scott Hall a while back, even though he was speaking the truth and not saying anything that most of us weren't already thinking
Homicide: His broken English can be a detriment to his promos from time-to-time, but I don't necessarily hold that against him.. When he gets drunk enough, he apparently has had a few incidents where he's nearly urinated on other people (the Samoa Joe & CM Punk shoot DVD = awesome).. I miss Julius Smokes coming to the ring with him.. That he's in TNA.. He'll probably never get the proper chance to shine as a singles star in TNA
Kofi Kingston: He sets the bar so high with his exciting offense, and there are times when he sets the bar too high (but he can't be expected to bust out something new in every single match, so it's still not too bad).. That he hasn't had a lot of opportunities to cut promos, so most people have no idea what he's capable of in that department.. Collie Buddz (the guy who does Kofi's entrance music) looks like Colt Brennan, and that makes me think of Colt being wasted as a backup QB for the Washington Redskins, which makes me mad
Nigel McGuinness: In some matches, he relies on lariats more than I'd like (he's got one of the best lariats in the world, though, so it's not all bad).. How much hair paste he must use to keep his hair as spiky as he does.. That he's had to deal with the RoHbot version of "John Cena Fan Syndrome", where the fans cheer for him like crazy, until he wins the World Title, and then they start turning on him for no real reason
Umaga: Not that it's his fault, obviously, but his gimmick doesn't exactly allow for much character development when it comes to promos and verbal interaction.. That he's probably going to end up killing a jobber with that running ass slam in the corner.. I miss Three Minute Warning, although I don't want Umaga to end so that Jamal can return
MVP: I'm still not necessarily a fan of his in-ring attire, although I do like a couple different colorways (the black/red and the black/green/orange).. I've never been a fan of Silkk The Shocker, who raps his entrance music.. The comparison that announcers always make between him and Terrell Owens makes me mad, because I can't stand Owens
Shelton Benjamin: Blonde hair.. His gimmick with his "Mama" makes me think of Donovan McNabb's "Mama", who was in all of those Campbell's Chunky soup commercials, and I don't like Campbell's Chunky soup.. That WWE won't give him someone that can actually speak for him and do it well (unlike "Mama"), even if it's only on a semi-regular basis
Bryan Danielson: That he doesn't have his hobo beard anymore.. That he isn't on the WWE roster.. Damn, I think that might actually be all there is for this section
CM Punk: I like AFI's "Miseria Cantare" (his last entrance theme in RoH) better than his current theme.. Apparently likes to make fun of people at Tranny Bars, as well as Strip Clubs (another lovely gem from the Joe/Punk shoot DVD).. That we might not see another match between him and Samoa Joe
Necro Butcher: His kicks/stomps don't always appear as crisp and as clean looking as his punches/slaps do, but that probably has to do with the fact that he's barefoot when he wrestles.. He piles bodies to the sky once he's let out of his cage, which makes me worry for my safety if he's around
Eddie Kingston: He just might be certifiably crazy.. No, really, he just might be certifiably crazy.. Like, for real.. If you've seen any of his promos, you'd know what I was talking about.. The guy is nuts
Fuck, that was difficult to do, as well. Jay, why would you do that to me? What have I ever done to you? Did I kick your dog or something? That was brutal. Oh, and no, neither my favorites nor least favorites lists were in any particular order, other than the first name on each one.
If money wasn't an issue, how many wrestling events would you attend a year? (John Doe)
This is kind of a strange question, as I would imagine most people would have just about the same answer. If money wasn't an issue whatsoever, I would be sitting front row for every episode of Raw (unless my San Francisco 49ers were involved in the Monday Night Football game, in which case, I'd go to the game), ECW, Smackdown, and Impact (yes, I realize it's free to get in and watch Impact). I would also be sitting front row for just about every WWE and TNA pay-per-view. I would also be sitting front row for every RoH show throughout the country, and even the ones in Canada and Japan. I would be sitting front row for various shows in Japan, including, but not exclusive to Pro Wrestling NOAH and Dragon Gate. I would be sitting front row for various shows in Mexico, including, but not exclusive to AAA and CMLL. I would be sitting front row for various smaller Indy and Indy-like shows, including, but not exclusive to FCW and PWG.
I'm sure you get the point by now. I'd be at so many events that people would get sick of seeing my mug in the front row of every show they watch. This isn't even taking into account just how many MMA events I'd attend a year, which would make the final total something astronomical. I'm a long-time wrestling nerd, and am becoming an MMA nerd, as well, and I come from a place that doesn't have countless shows of either type here. My answer might be something different if I lived in New York, Las Vegas, or other places that get wrestling and/or MMA shows all the time.
Who wins the Brock Lesnar VS Frank Mir rematch later this year? (Da King Of C-Town)
Either way, it's going to be a really fun fight, I'll say that right off the top. It won't be the same Brock Lesnar that lost the first fight, but at the same time, it won't be the same Frank Mir that won the fight, either. Both men are vastly improved since their fight a little over a year ago, where Lesnar basically dominated the entire 1:30 duration, except at the very end, where he made a rookie mistake and became too aggressive, allowing Mir to submit him with a kneebar.
I don't see the rematch ending as quickly as the first fight did. I think it would end in the second round sometime, but as of this very second (I'm sure my answer will change numerous times until the fight actually takes place), I'd have to go out and say Brock Lesnar wins the fight. The improvements he's been making have just amazed me, and although Mir is coming off of an absolute clinic against Big Nog, Brock is a beast that the UFC has never experienced before, nor will they ever experience again. I think it'll be a really fun fight, but I'd think Brock would still be able to use his size, speed, and power combination to end up winning the fight sometime towards the end of the second round, as I mentioned.
Are you a fan of the America's Best Dance Crew TV show? (John Doe)
It's strange, because I've received four different questions along the lines of this one, and I've gotten them all since I posted the last edition of "Ask Hustle". Did you folks all get together and plan that or something? Just seems odd to me, that's all. They were all from different e-mail addresses, and had different names tied to them, but still.. mighty weird cowinkydink.
Anyway, yes, I'm a fan of the show. I didn't watch more than an episode or so of the first two seasons, but I've watched every episode this season. I can't stand Mario Lopez and his lame jokes, Lil Bow Wow and her terrible attempt at using big words to make herself sound smarter (and usually using them incorrectly), as well as JC Chasez and his ability to apparently watch dance routines completely different than anybody else, but I still love the show.
When this season started, The Ringmasters were my favorite crew. Never in my life have I seen dancing like the "bone crush" style they had. They weren't the best crew, but they were definitely the most fun crew to watch, and the crew that left me in awe more often than the others. The best crew is Quest Crew, with Beat Freaks coming in at a close second. I'll be shocked if neither one of those crews ends up as the champions. We're down to the Final Four now, so we'll find out in only a few short weeks, I suppose.
I want it to be known that I was shaking my head in disgust during the entire time I was typing this answer out. I'm damn near ashamed of myself sometimes. Almost, but not quite. Fuck it, though.. if The Backyardigans can entertain me, then I guess I can't be too shocked at anything else doing so. Hell, I watch American Idol every week, too, and now that I've said that, I'm sure I'll end up with a few questions about that, as well.
What was the best single sporting event you've ever seen? (Ramon)
Damn, that's another question that makes me stop and think really hard. It seems like an easy question, and for some folks, I'm sure it is, but I've watched so many sporting events through the years, and it's tough to go through them all in my head. The first thing that came to my mind was last year's Super Bowl, with the New York Giants beating the New England Patriots. With as much history as there was on the line for the Patriots, and with just how good the ending of the game was, it would be a definite candidate for this, but I don't think it was the best overall game I've ever seen, from beginning to end.
Honestly, I think the winning choice would be the 2006 Rose Bowl between Texas and USC. That, from beginning to end, was a spectacular football game. Even if it wasn't for the National Championship, it might be the choice here, but the simple fact that it was on the line just made it that much better. Throw in the star-power that was on the field that night, and the ending that cemented Texas QB Vince Young as a legend in college football history, and you have my choice here.
Do you think Ric Flair will actually remain retired? (Floyd Allison)
Retirements in the world of professional wrestling usually mean about as much as a used VHS copy of "Mr Nanny", but in this case, I'm leaning towards actually believing Flair when he says that he has no intention of wrestling again. I completely buy the fact that he respects Shawn Michaels enough to keep the promise that he made him after their match at WrestleMania 24. I don't know how much of my answer is that I do believe it compared to how much I want to believe it, but I really do think he'll stay retired. Obviously, he'll still have a relationship with WWE, whether it's making occasional appearances like he is now, or coming in as a Manager of some sort, but I don't think we'll see him step back into the ring again.
Why don't you give TNA a chance? (Kylie)
A chance to what? You didn't specify in your e-mail, so I have no idea what you're actually asking about. I'm assuming that you're asking why I'm not giving them a chance to succeed, or something along those lines. In that case, I am giving them a chance. I'm giving them numerous chances. I'm not one of those people that hate on TNA because it's the "in" thing to do. I actually watch their show and have seen numerous pay-per-view events they've put on, all the way back to when it was a weekly format. I want them to succeed. I really do. I have no problem with them improving and getting close to WWE's level, forcing WWE to step their game up in response, etc.
With that said, though.. TNA continues fucking everything up. Even the simplest of things are botched beyond recognition with that company. That has nothing to do with me, as even people who call themselves fans of the company admit that they need a lot of improvements to make before they can even start to think about becoming a legitimate #2 wrestling promotion.
Since No Way Out is this weekend, I might as well go ahead and post my brief predictions for the event. I've seen more than a few people call the card an easy one to predict, and while it isn't full of unpredictability, I don't think it's as clear-cut as some people are making it out to be. It should be a pretty good show, though. Without any further adieu, let's get on with the picks..
WWE Title Elimination Chamber: This match is tough to call, in my opinion. If Edge retains his title, it wouldn't shock me. If Triple H wins the title, it wouldn't shock me. If The Undertaker wins the title, it wouldn't shock me. If Jeff Hardy wins the title, it wouldn't shock me. I would be shocked, however, if either Vladimir Kozlov or Big Show walk out of Seattle with the belt. Something is just telling me that Edge finds a way to sneak out of here with the title. I think he'll lose the title at WrestleMania, though, but it won't happen this weekend.
Winner: Edge
World Title Elimination Chamber: Honestly, this is the easiest match to predict on the whole card. I just don't see a chance in hell that Cena drops the title here. I like the idea of trying to build up Mike Knox and Kofi Kingston here, but let's be realistic, they're both a ways away from World Title material just yet. Chris Jericho was, arguably, the best wrestler the company had during the 2008 calendar year, but can any of you see him as the World Champion at the biggest show of all-time? Even the Jericho fans I know can't see that happening. No, Cena has to be the man holding the title going in to Houston, even though I think he may also lose his title there.
Winner: John Cena
ECW World Title - Jack Swagger VS Finlay: Christian's arrival in ECW makes this match much more interesting than it was to start out with. Before Christian's return, I would've picked Swagger to win here, and I wouldn't have hesitated for a moment. Christian being part of the picture at least makes me think about it for a moment, as a match between Christian and Finlay would be fun, and of better quality than Christian VS Jack Swagger. However, Swagger is clearly being groomed for bigger and better things in his future, so I just can't see him losing the title to Finlay, who is more like an upper-level enhancement talent right now, because of his ability to help people improve in the ring. Nice Ring General, but not quite ECW Champion material.
Winner: Jack Swagger
Shawn Michaels VS JBL: There was a time where it looked as if this match would be taking place at WrestleMania 25, but I'm glad to see that it should/could be ending here instead. I'm just getting tired of the storyline at this point, and getting really tired of seeing Emo Shawn Michaels week in and week out. This match should be hard-hitting and very physical, which should be fun. Nobody bumps better for big men than Shawn Michaels does. I think this storyline needs to come to an end with Michaels coming out on top, so that he can move on and return to being the "usual" Shawn Michaels, which would lead to one last World Title run in 2009 before he retires. HBK wins an emotional match here.
Winner: Shawn Michaels
No Holds Barred - Shane McMahon VS Randy Orton: This has the potential to be a lot better than most people are willing to predict. I'm not saying it'll be a five-star classic, or that it'll steal the show, but when you see Shane McMahon's name on a wrestling card, you can expect, at the very least, one memorable moment to carry out of his match. I really don't see this being any different, especially with the added emotion of Shane trying to avenge what Orton has done to his family in recent weeks. Having Shane pick up a victory would be a huge mistake, though, even if it was a clusterfuck of an ending. Orton is the Royal Rumble winner, for goodness sake, so I don't exactly see him being jobbed out in the event before he gets his WrestleMania title shot. He's not exactly Rey Mysterio, who won the Rumble, then went on to lose 198 matches in a row before winning the title at Mania. No, Orton should get the momentum leading up to Mania, and he'll get it by picking up the victory here.
Winner: Randy Orton
Writer's Note: Hmm.. it appears that someone working for Vince McMahon is reading my columns. It probably isn't Vince himself, as he doesn't appear to be the kind of guy that just browses the internet for the fuck of it. Time and time again, I'll mention something in my column, either in passing or as the main subject matter, and even if it doesn't seem like the most logical decision to a lot of people, it ends up happening soon after I post my work. It has happened again, folks, with my column about ECW needing some serious help, especially with the lack of people on the roster. I post that, and barely 48 hours later, ECW now boasts Christian (!!!) and Tyson Kidd (aka TJ Wilson), had a second straight appearance by Jamie Noble, and ran a video package for the imminent return of Evan Bourne (even though some thought he'd return on Raw). They may have just boosted their roster by nearly 30% in a single episode, and that's not even counting the fact that Natalya is apparently switching to ECW, as well, to join up with Kidd. Then we get the news that we're less than two months away from another WWE Draft, which should help to shake things up once again. Damn, I'm good. Because of Christian's return, ECW was actually worth watching for the first time in several weeks, possibly longer. Due to the time difference, I got to read about the return a few hours before the show aired here, and I was hyped for it the entire time. When his music hit and he walked out, I nearly got goose bumps, and this is coming from a guy who has never been Christian's biggest fan. I've read a few people complaining about the fact that Christian "deserves better" and that he's "above" ECW. The fact that some of you are also bitching about ECW's recent product just baffles me. Make up your fucking minds. I guaranfuckingtee you that Christian would be lost in the mix if he went to Smackdown, as was widely rumored since he left TNA. There are a lot of you Christian fans that are blinded by the fact that he was a main event guy in TNA. That doesn't make him a main event guy as a member of the WWE roster, folks. There's such a large percentage of the WWE fan base that have never watched TNA, and who are new fans that never even got to see Christian's first run working for Vince McMahon. Hell, I know about a half-dozen people who fit that description to a tee, and I know them personally, so that's not even counting the millions (..and millions) of people that watch WWE television and that are outside of my own personal circle. Sorry, Christian fans, but it's the truth, no matter how much you'd like to deny it. He needs to "earn" his way to the top of the WWE totem pole, not just come in and use his TNA success as a ladder. Putting him on ECW allows him the opportunity to "earn" it.
Writer's Note Part Deux: It took me a lot longer to get around to it than I wanted, but I finally got a chance to watch "The Wrestler", and I absolutely loved it. It was just beautifully done, although as a long-time wrestling fan that grew up as the "Internet Era" was blowing up, it was nothing I didn't already know from other stories. Mickey Rourke put on the performance of a lifetime, and he definitely put in a lot of research to become Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Marisa Tomei (as hot as she's ever been, even at the age of 44) was good in a supporting role, and appears like she'd make for a damn good stripper. The entire movie carries a bit of a depressing feel with it, though, based on the subject matter. It's just sad to see what "The Ram" goes through as a former wrestling legend who is trying with all his might to hang on to old glory, and to know that it parallels countless wrestlers in the real world. Real talk, ladies and gentlemen.. if you have an opportunity to see this movie, please do yourself a favor and do so. Hopefully it'll be easier to find in your neck of the woods than it was here, as the nearest theater showing the movie was a 30 minute drive away. Hell, it was worth it, though.
Writer's Note Part Ekolu: Through the entire time I've been a columnist, more than a few of you have made fan signs for me, whether they were legitimate signs that you took to various events, or just photoshopped ones that you cooked up in your spare time. Although I haven't had one made in a while, here is the latest one:
On the left, with the "HIPRN" sign, is my boy Chepo, with his homie, Rich, on the right. This pic was taken at this past week's episode of Raw from Oakland. I've been so busy over the last few days that I haven't been able to watch Raw to see whether or not the sign got any time on-air, but it's sitting on my DVR for my viewing pleasure whenever I get around to it. If anybody did see it and would like to get a screencap of it for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Good lookin out on the signage, Chep. Hope you had a good time at the show, and I'm sure you did.
I might as well whore the sign idea out some more, so if any of you would like to make a sign, go right on ahead. Again, it can be of an actual sign or of something you photoshopped (for example: a picture of someone with a t-shirt that says "Hustle Is Posting Right Now", etc). It doesn't have to say anything in particular, but the "Hustle Is Posting Right Now" and "HIPRN" choices are the ones that seem to work best. If you make an actual sign, it doesn't have to be for a wrestling event. It could be at some other sporting event, concert, or even just something at school. I'm easy to please. E-mail the pictures to me, and I'll get them up in a future column.
What Hustle Is Listening To Right Now: "Undead" by Hollywood Undead (I don't really like the song or anything, but it's on the Madden 09 soundtrack, and after playing a recent marathon of the game, the song is now stuck in my head).. "Brazilian Crying Season" by Charles Hamilton.. "Come On Pretty Baby" by City Side.. "It's Goin Down" by Celly Cel.. "King Without A Crown" by Matisyahu.. "It's The Way I Feel About You" by Ekolu.. I need to get ready to bounce the fuck out of here, so I'll try and make this as quick as I can. Thanks for riding with me for yet another HIPRN banger. I'll be back next week with a return to actual columny goodness, so keep your peepers peepin for that. I don't have a set subject just yet, but I'm sure I'll do my fair share of No Way Out discussion somewhere in there. Also, I will let it be known right now that I might be re-posting an old column of mine sometime in the near future. Nothing in particular yet, but it'll be an opportunity for some of my older main page work to be read by a newer audience. Until next week, from the 808 area code, I raise my styrofoam cup in a toast (I might be turning into an addict.. uh-oh) and bid you all farewell. Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa.
